"Royal passed away suddenly at home. We are heartbroken. Royal was an inspiration to countless people. He was a teacher, a mentor, an example of how to be a gentleman, an entertainer and a friend. He was my best friend. I am at a loss for more words than this, I loved his with all my heart and I don't know what I'll do without him. He's gone from this world too soon."

For those that didn't know Royal he was a performer, balloon artist, co-organiser of Twist & Shout Balloon Convention and teacher. Royal had a wonderful sense of humour. He has reached many people in the balloon community over many years and will be greatly missed.

I never met him but I know how much he meant to the balloon community, so sad

I remember that one of the first set's of tapes I bought was Royal's Balloon-gineering series
and all the corny gags Royal used to tell when we met up.

I really enjoyed attending Twist and Shout, all the memories, meeting friends old and new and
now and again having an in depth chat with Royal about the balloon world and life in general.
It was always good to listen.

Royal had a different vision on sculptures and designs which was always nice to see
and the construction of getting from A to B was intriguing.

Yes the balloon world has become a little poorer.

I think this will go into my real world designs to make, Royal making his disguise.
