I need advice from those that know. As I posted a while ago, I want to set up a part time twisting service in my spare time.
My issue is, what do I need to do and what order?
I looked into public liability insurance but they seem to want to know a business name. Do I need to register as a business? If I only make a few hundred pounds a year, am I a business ess or can I simply fill in a tax return without registering as a business? Can I get public liability insurance without registering as a business, particularly if I decide to just do charity stuff?
How easy is all of the above because the thought of it seems rather daunting?
Any comments gratefully received.
Kindest Regards
Stuart

re insurance

For the best info I would call John from bapia or Equity.

Some people like to use a business name but you don't have to you can work under your own name.

I believe you can be a sole trader and add to your tax form at the end of year
When it comes to the day I arive at the pearly gates I hope to slide in sideways saying to st Peter WOW!!! what a ride.

John Bowler from BAPIA is brilliant and so helpful and you can pay £15/month for your insurance.  You will also get a great welcome pack with loads of balloons/tools and coupons worth around £100.
