I was going to make a few posts on how something turns from one idea to the other.
So the shield that I just posted the instructions for here, graham-lee-dvd-step-step-t10168.html (http://balloonchat.co.uk/graham-lee-dvd-step-step-t10168.html)
I have made the shield like this for years, one balloon, real world...............sorted.
At the care & share days when I used to explain this the comments we got back were it's too small.
Don't forget it's for a 4/8 year old and in all the time I made this I have not had one comment about it being too small.
So we decided to play about with the design and added the black section.
More to follow.
With the two tone colour you could easily make a batman, spiderman, captain america sort of shield for a themed party
with not too much effort. The top of the shield could have a few variations.
And looks fab two toned when double stuffed.
When I showed this at the Darlington day someone made it slightly differently, it was the black and white shield.
So I started to have a play with the design and made the other two there, thought it looked plane like and also a little swan tail.
And away we went.
I really like the black/white design, very similar in shape to the 2 balloon shield I use but 2 of the same colour. This design looks a lot better, definitely going to try the 2 tone.
So between the Darlington day and Edinburgh I had a travel day and spent a while twisting in my hotel room and made the one balloon shield a little different.
I think it was laying on the bed sideways and I saw the plane, so one design for two models :)
I tried to give the cock pit a little more construction but if you need a quick plane I think just two bubbles for cockpit work best.
Unlike me I did not get a picture at the Edinburgh day even though I'm pretty sure we did run through the construction.
I then took the shape of the shield and used in the one balloon swan that I was making from a variation on a theme from Dale Campbell.
I then up scaled a little.
You truly do amaze me man! Your ability to really get down and play with shapes and designs is inspiring even more so to watch in person! Ill be thanking you forever!! Now to post more!!

It goes to show just how un-busy I am Daniel :)
I then made this one balloon plane and then the swan from the shape of the shield.
I then went onto the two balloon shield made up slightly differently.
I wanted to get rid of the pinch twists and add the point to the bottom of the shield, I wonder what the point of a shield is called?
The black shield was the first one with no pinch twists to hold the point square, I then made the pink shield :)
So my two balloon shield ended up here..................at the moment. It could go somewhere else soon, who knows.
I like the way the centre bars have that slightly downward look, pleasing for my eye.
Which was only a small variation from where we started with the original two balloon shield.
I had up in my loft/office area this deflated balloon, it was a heart design that Simon Twistit posted from an idea from dale Campbell.
I was trying to make butterfly wings but the figure of eight idea outside the 260 gave me the extra idea for the shield.
This was the idea from Dale I believe, I made up to show how we go from one idea to another.
I like the two loops going around the outside of the outer 260's.
You can change the look of the shield a little by rolling the loops up or down.
I like the spear like section at the bottom so the two balloon shield ended up like this.
Turned side ways could be a spaceship?

When I saw these photos the first thing I saw was a spaceship and then I read your text :D
The shield moved onto a violin and the back section of the bird design.
The evolving shield turned into a guitar.
I have made the shield as the March competition on the forum.
I made a few yesterday for the step by step and this morning I thought the shield could be the wings for a butterfly.
Some variations.
A couple more and a sword to go with them, the step by step
are on the model of the month for April 2018,

A couple more quick shields although one looks like a kite.
