Who are the pumps delivered by this end?

I have been tracking my Filbert from the States using the USPS tracking system.  It is as clear as mud as it does not even tell you what time zone the listings are made in

Anyway I get an email today from them saying that they tried to deliver my pump this morning at 6.32am.  Even if any of the delivery services did deliver at that time of day I was actually up anyway so would have heard the door - frankly it would have scared the living s*** out of me!

If they are posting in EST then I think they are saying they attempted delivery at about 1am - somewhat unlikely I think.

I have also checked and have received none of those "Sorry you were out" cards so it couldn't even be that they tried delivering whilst I was doing the school run either.

I have tried to email USPS to ask who they use and if I can have a British tracking number but their system suggests I will get a response within 1-2 working days and to be honest I can't stay in all day just to see if the pump arrive tomorrow and I have to do the school runs.

Sorry to go on but I am a typical girl in that I want my pump and I want it now (yes I am stamping my feet like a 5 year old as I say this too  :D )

Sorry cant help you on this matter, i ordered mine but got it delivered to an address in Ireland and it took 5 days in total to arrive without any custom charges on top. I was lucky.
But  i seemed to remember Graeme aka billy wiz, had a problem where they said they had delivered when they clearly hadnt. Maybe an email to him might help give you some answers.

Cheers Adie

Hi Yvonne
I was lucky with my Filbert and did not get charged import duty, but on other stuff I have got from the us I have and had this message, and what it actually means is you need to go and get it from the office and pay the duty "tried to deliver at 6:30" means they went to put it on the van at 6:30 am and could not as it had duty to be paid. You will more than likely get a letter saying this unless you get hold of them first.

When it comes to the day I arive at the pearly gates I hope to slide in sideways saying to st Peter WOW!!! what a ride.

Right once I knew it was Parcel Force I have managed to speak to a human being but not overly impressed.  From what I can work out ParcelForce pay the customs (and add a bit on top too   ) and then send you a letter at the same time they send it to their depot.  It arrived at their depot at 6.30am (which I think is the supposed attempted delivery) and I now have to wait until I receive this letter with the customs reference number on before I can pay the duty.

I have tried to explain that a lot of my post is going missing at present and the best they could do is say that if I hadn't received the letter by tomorrow that they would be prepared to do it without the number.  This makes me cross, if they could do it tomorrow without the number then why can they not do it today?  All this and I will probably end up collecting it from thier depot anyway as I cannot guarantee to be in

P.S.  Thanks Graeme and Roger  :)

Just spoke to Yvonne,

Yes, I did have exactly the same problem. It seems to be normal practice for them to say attempted delivery when it isn't. Mine was also available from Royal Mails Parcel Force. I just had to take some ID to their main depot and pay the charges to pick it up. Unfortunatly they are being a pain with Yvonne and she has to wait to receive a letter first.

Frustrating, this 'girlie girl' (her words :) ) is desperate to get her new toy. It'll be worth it in the end Yvonne. :) :)

Parcel force is always a pain for stuff from the states.

I stay clear of USPS and get important goods sent by UPS.

Their system rocks as they call me when the goods arrive, I pay the duty and arrange next day delivery.

Not going to help you now but may help somebody in the future.

When my filbert pump arrived, I had to pay duty also.
But I was able to do it at the door when they deliverd it.

Trouble with that Smiggle is that I know of at least 4 letters that have never made it to me lately so I am not holding out any hope of the letter arriving and if it does it will probably be next week sometime and I could really do with it this weekend.  My post has still not arrived so if it is not here by the time I get back from picking my little man up from Pre-school I will phone them and tell them it hasn't arrived and that the guy yesterday told me I could just phone up and pay today!  Little bit naughty but I would like to collect it this afternoon before I collect my daughter from school so that I don't miss the delivery doing the school runs tomorrow and so that I can have a play before my jobs at the weekend.

HOORAY!!!! I am now in proud possession of bright beautiful Filbert Pump but not without hassle!

My letter did actually arrive today and I found out that of the £23.25 they charged me only £9.75 of that was actual VAT - the remaining £13.50 was thier charges for paying the VAT over which apparently we get no choice but to pay.  I feel really cheated since I already paid $50 to get this delivered and although I have no problems with the VAT being added I refuse to believe it costs Parcel Force £13.50 to pay the VAT on my behalf.  It really didn't help that Adam had fallen asleep in the car so I had to leave him and the guy who dealt with me was definitely not a people person as he insisted on lecturing me as to how they make barely any money from this charge etc and then tried to make me feel better by telling me it is a flat rate   I so felt like telling him to shut up and get his a*** in gear in case my boy woke up on his own.

Anyway rant over - I love my pump and have learnt a valuable lesson not to use Parcel Force unless I really have no other choice.

Well done Yvonne. :D
Very exciting.
Some people get sticky letters and put their own brand down it.
Would that be nice too?
Hope you are enjoying it.
Try not to think how much it cost. When mine arrived I was so excited, my dad told me I could get one just the same in the bike shop for £15. Like, not what you want to hear when you have just spend a fortune.
