BALLOON REVIEW 019 - SITTERS BY BONNIE THE BALLOON LADY EBOOK PDF COLLECTION

Bonnie the Balloon Lady aka Bonnie Davis has many balloon collections available to purchase from the website http://www.balloonjam.com (http://www.balloonjam.com) - this particular collection comprises of balloons that are sitting down and costs $15 with instant delivery via email. Let's see what there is here...

CAT

This is a really effective cat made of 260Qs. This cat sits on its own and is very stable. As with all these designs the time to construct probably isn't suitable for line work. The triangular body shape can be used as a foundation to make many more animals and characters.

KITTEN

This design is supposed to be a kitten but in my hands I have ended up with something that looks a bit like the Pink Panther! Based on the triangular shaped body this design is easy to make.

DOG

A variation on the previous two designs has resulted in a dog. Nothing new with the dog's face but certainly the body design is effective and useful.

LIONESS

This design is a lioness. I feel the nose of the lioness is too long for my liking. Again this is based on the same body style. Not too much to say about this one.

LION

This is one of my favourite designs in this collection. This design is neat and compact. The lion's mane in darker brown gives good character. A really nice lion.

TIGER

A lovely tiger which when combined with artwork makes for an effective character. The face is neat and sits tight and the white toe nails adds that little something. I will be making this one again.

CHEETAH

A cheetah made with ivory and white balloons. This animal looks good and requires plenty of artwork for the black patches. I am not sure whether the colour is right for a cheetah but even so I do like it.

Hi Anna

That looks so much better than mine. The goldenrod looks great and I especially like the uninflated black 260Q around the eyes. Cool!

DONKEY

For me this is one of the strongest designs of the collection. The Donkey looks great. The use of the mane keeps the model upright and it sits really well on the already familiar base. Nothing complicated here but probably not quick enough for line work.

FROG

The first of two amphibian designs. This frog is good, fast to make although the usual pinch twist toes can be a little problematic. This model requires a bit of artwork to bring it to life. This is one frog that sits very well.

TOAD

With the addition of a 160Q over the top of the head and eyes and down the back we get a toad. I really like this one and will be making it again.

ELEPHANT

For me the eyes on this elephant at too small. Perhaps the use of hearts for the ears would increase the cuteness and make for a more rounded design. Still a good elephant though but not one I am likely to make again.

MONKEY

I really like the body design of this monkey but the face doesn't sit quite right with me. Perhaps a hybrid solution of the Don Caldwell monkey head and this body would make for a better model. I still like it though.

SUMMARY

A very well produced set of PDFS that are easy to follow and include plenty of photos. There are some really good models including the Donkey and the Tiger but some are lacking a little. I love Bonnie's work and some of her other publications are well worth a look.
