Balloon Review 077 : Hiccup the Duck by Dylan Gelinas

Available from http://www.slightlytwistedballoons.com priced $0 when you sign up to Dylan's newsletter

Yet another new PDF from Dylan and this time it is FREE as long as you sign up to his newsletter via his site. Therefore this represents EXCELLENT value for money :-) Dylan's PDF instructions are the same high standard as previously. Plenty of colour photos and these instructions are easy to follow.

I would actually say that the creation of this little duck offers as many challenges as the larger mouse! The use of a Agate water filled tulip twist base is nice. As the latex is so thick there is little chance of bursting it. The yellow round then sits snugly on top but care must be taken to twist the bubble at the bottom of the yellow round in the centre otherwise your model will not sit upright.

I used Dylan's exact sizing. If I was to make it again I would make the sides of the beak larger as trying to pass the 160Q through them was a struggle and a little too tight. It was difficult to make the head sit snug on top of the yellow round and it is easy to have a visible gap here. I found twisting the yellow round to the neck the duck very tightly really helped.

A cute little duck and easily worth a look (especially as it is free!)

I do love this design. Like you, I had trouble feeding the yellow through the cheeks.
I did not have the correct 160 yellow and did not use a round for a base. Otherwise, I was quite pleased with my effort. Thanks Dylan :D
Kindest Regards

I received some 160's in the mail yesterday so i can finally make this cute little ducky

I (like others above) had trouble feeding the yellow 169 through the cheeks. On my first attempt it popped and the second attempt it took almost 10 minutes.

I didn't have any agates so i put it on a half water filled geo

For some reason when i was done the design was upside down, i must have made a mistake somewhere along the way (i admit, i accidentally flipped my photo and i didn't know how to un-rotate it)

This is how mine came out, lol. I made the wings a little longer and didn't have an agate either. I also added balloon eyeliner, lol.
