PATCHES THE BUNNY

Available from http://www.slightlytwistedballoons.com priced $8

Another PDF release from Dylan. This guy never stops! Following Dylan's last PDF release I believe a few of his customers asked for a less colorful and printer friendly set of instructions. Well he certainly listens as these instructions are in an all new format which still maintain the high level of instructions and full colour photos but are much easier to print out and uses less ink.

This Bunny is for advanced twisters and is certainly not something that you would make for line work or in a hurry. I used this for a birthday party today and it went down a storm. The final design is an Easter display piece where the bunny has a basket of eggs but I chose to just make the rabbit.

So here are the key points :

#1 This PDF contains plenty of colour photos, easy to follow written instructions and accurate bubble sizes. I didn't struggle following any of the step by step instructions.

#2 The ears are ingenious. I have never thought about stuffing an inflated 160Q inside a 350Q and then using the 350Q as a 'latex skin' and as a distortion technique. You must ensure you reverse inflate the 350Q. Do not think about cheating by fully inflating the 350Q and then letting out some of the air as there is not enough tension in the balloon to allow ease of stuffing. It will take a few goes to get wrinkle free ears but a nice idea.

#3 The face design is very tight and snug. I found it a little difficult to hold the 260Q pinch twisted muzzle in a nice upright position. I may have made the bubbles slightly too big.

#4 Positioning the 160Q eyebrows is always fun if you have made the 260Q face/eyes too tight!

#5 The body design using two hearts twisted at each lobe and is a lovely technique which can be used for a multitude of bodies. Keep the hearts very under inflated.

#6 Attaching the legs and arms is easy and makes the bunny very cute.

I didn't make the optional easter egg basket but this is very simple with the whole piece being mounted on a large donut/geo.

The difference between my reviews and those of others, is all my designs are used in the real world. This bunny was the talk of my magic show today which is quite an accolade given the high standard of all my other designs (sorry if that sounded big headed!)

If you are looking for a nice Easter piece buy this. It isn't quick and much like Dylan's Mickey Mouse, it is a reputation maker. As one of the parents said to me today... 'you must have gone to the school of advanced balloon modelling'.. correct, and Dylan is a great teacher!
