Balloon Review 074 - Guns And Robots by Dustin Queary

Available via email from mailto:simply_shonna@hotmail.com">simply_shonna@hotmail.com - the last price I could find quoted was $50 for this two DVD set excluding postage. This DVD was supplied free of charge to me for evaluation purposes.

Dustin is a new addition to Balloon Review and having seen some of his photos on-line and his recent wearable Gorilla outfit at Twist & Shout I am excited to see what this collection holds.

So let's see what we have here....

PISTOL

KIT LIST : 260Q GREY / 260Q MOCHA BROWN

A nice compact and sturdy pistol design using just two balloons. I am guessing this design was made with Sempertex balloons as the extra length will make all the difference. I had to adjust the bubble sizes carefully which took a few attempts. Dustin is a good teacher. The only difficulty is he doesn't always quote bubble sizes so you do have to estimate them. He comes across as a really nice laid back guy and enjoys having fun with his creations at the end of each model. It made me laugh anyway! This one will be popular with the boys when you have a little extra time.

Here is a promotional clip that was put together for this in 2009.

Nippy is correct that Dustin most likely used Betallatex/Sempertex for this DVD because that way the Balloon available to him in 2009.   He does currently make most of his designs with Qualatex also.

I hope you enjoy the clip.

ASSAULT RIFLE

KIT LIST : 260Q BLACK / 260Q GREY

A slightly more complicated weapon and the difference in sizing to fit qualatex balloons is a struggle. I actually added an extra 260Q grey. This weapon is nice to hold and a good variation.

TRANSFORMER - BUMBLEBEE

KIT LIST : 260Q YELLOW / 260Q BLACK / 260Q GREY

I haven't got a transformer in my collection so this is a nice addition. I think it looks pretty good. The instructions could have been a little clearer with accurate bubble sizes and some of the shots are too far away for certain parts. Saying that, its not the end of the world as I managed to make this. Easily adapted for other robots and surprisingly quick to make. There isn't anything complicated here and the construction is well designed.

I haven't even tried to make any of Dustin's designs yet.   I guess I should.

Anyway, our shopping cart will soon be ready.   If you want to get the DVD before then, please just email us at

mailto:Sales@AdventureInFun.com">Sales@AdventureInFun.com

The DVD is sold as a two disc set for $50 or separately as $35 for Disc 1 and $25 for Disc 2.

Thanks for reviewing this for us.

Oh, I was told by Benny N from Puerto Rico that if you Stretch a 260Q while inflating it, it is every bit as long as a Betallic 260.  While I was in Puerto Rico, he mouth inflated Q260's to show me and also showed me with a pump.   Benny could make any of Dustin's designs with the Qualatex.   I was amazed.   Benny ROCKS!

I found an old promo clip we made in 2009 for Guns and Robots.

TRANSFORMER - ROBOT #4

KIT LIST : 260Q DARK BLUE / 260Q GREY / 260Q RED / 160Q DARK BLUE

Another transformer variation and if I was a transformers master I may actually know the name of this one! I really like Dustin's transformers designs but I must say on this one the bubble sizes are a bit sketchy. Having made it the first time around I know the second one would be much better. I gave this to a guy who loves transformers and he absolutely loved it.

I think my next plan is to make this in 350Qs - that would be even better.

SHOTGUN

KIT LIST : 260Q CHOC BROWN / 260Q GREY

Another variation of weapon (this DVD is full of them) and I like this shotgun. Sizing is critical here so be careful. Great fun!
