Balloon Review 092 : Tricks and Treats Video Download by Buster Balloon

Available via http://www.balloon-animals.com priced $20

Any release from Buster Balloon generates plenty of excitement in anticipation of some wonderful designs. It is well known that Buster loves Halloween from his previous DVD releases and with the instant download advantage of the internet it meant I got my hands on this one in plenty of time for the 31st October.

As with all balloon-animals.com videos, the production quality is extremely good. Buster is an excellent teacher and his videos are very entertaining. This collection of designs is accessible to all twisters and not as advanced as some of Buster's previous releases.

Let's see what we have here...........

LITTLE MONSTERS COLLECTION

In a previous DVD release Buster showed his concept for his Wrist Buddies. These quick and easy monsters are a variation on the same theme. These monsters looked fantastic mounted on my light stand at a recent show and the children loved them. Perfect for halloween line work and the variations are limitless.

LITTLE PUMPKIN GHOST

This balloons is designed as a wearable wrist buddy or to be placed on a headband. I'm not too sure whether the white balloon actually looks like a ghost or whether the pumpkin looks strange with the green stem stuck out to one side. I really need to try this out for a real audience to be certain but probably not something I will make very much.

WITCH HAT HAIRBAND

This witch hat is excellent. To me I prefer it without the hair and I can see this one being very popular with the ladies. Not too dissimilar to a design published in Balloon Magic Magazine (I think!) by David Brenion. The 321Q black on top of the hat needs to be shaped correctly and the end result is very nice.

BLACK CAT

My favourite halloween cat ever! The design is very simplistic but Buster has captured the character perfectly. The 321Q makes a great body and the eyes are shaped to give the right level of evilness! You will make this one. Would be fun to add some small leds inside the green eyes!

Love the little monsters but I've seen the witch's hat on YouTube, well, a variation on it. Looks very similar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMEqKvoGH50
I agree with you about the little ghost on the pumpkin. How about this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gydFz5phNgE
It's in Spanish but I just followed along and got a decent result, (I think).

I made three today. One with the green eyes and then two with pink eyes (my daughters request). This is a great cat and with a bit of practice, can see this being a quick design.

We all have our cross to bear, but some of us need more wood than others!
