Balloon Review 122 : Live Balloons Vol 1 by Eric Weinstein PDF

Available from... http://www.yourpartyschool.com priced $15

A collection of five designs using a heart as the core structure. This is part of a two volume set and Eric's first release of balloon instructions.  The instructions contain plenty of full colour photos along with supporting text. Bubble sizes are given in inches.

Let's see what we have here...

BEE

This design uses a heart with both lobes twisted. It is important not to over inflate the heart otherwise the twisted balloon becomes too hard and prone to popping (as I found out). The instructions do need careful attention in order to follow them clearly as i found them a little tricky to follow. The end result is very nice and makes for a very cute bumble bee. An optional flower can be added.  I got a good reaction from this one.

LOBSTER

A variation using the same bee style head. I like this lobster - he looks very cute. Just by adding a tail you get a new animal. This model is not free standing but would like nice as part of a display. Obviously not one for line work as it takes too long.

MONSTER

A cute monster or alien. Based on the same principle as the other two designs. The feet on this design allows the model to stand on its own which is cool. Not much more to say on this one....

SLIMER

With Halloween approaching this model is ideal. Based on the same head design a 321Q is added to give the slimer shape. Not a quick one to make. Would look good on a handband or mounted on a hat.

GHOST

A reworking of the slimer balloon using different colours. The design is the same. I prefer the slimer version as it is more colourful.

SUMMARY

This is really a collection of four designs at the slimer and the ghost are virtually the same but made with different coloured balloons. I really like this concept and the end result is a cartoon style face that has multiple applications. The instructions could be with being slightly clearer as I struggled to interpret them in places.

This PDF is good value at $15 and I am looking forward to the next set of releases by Eric. An artist to watch in the future.
