I've been asked for a large peppa pig I've seen a tutorial using a small heart for the head I'm thinking I could scale it up using a 16" heart so I've ordered a 10 count. Any tips for me on this before I destroy all 10

Can you make it with the 6" heart first to get a feel for them?

I have tried to scale up and it is tricky (I failed in my efforts). The additional size made it tough to manipulate

Hi Rob

I had this one to make yesterday, so while I was at it I tried with the bigger hearts. :o

The body seems OK, but the face.....impossible !!!

I would suggest making the snout a separate balloon, maybe a tulip twist in the end of a pink 660...and fixing it with a rasin twist, or glue dots

Look forward to seeing how it turns out  :D  :D
Kind regards
Kevin

Well I don't have pink 16" hearts but I do have white ones so I had a go using one of those.  I don't know if its just my imagination but the 16" heart does not seem to stretch out as much proportionately as the 6".  I will have another go but the one I did seemed to stubby and short in the face.  I did have a go with a 646 balloon but ended up with a great Babe style pig instead.  I will post me white 16" head later together with the babe pig.

Right well I had another go with the white heart and looked at it a different way.  This time I put a 350 balloon inside the white heart and inflated it till it reached from the lip to the end of one of the lobes.  I also put some peas inside so that I could attach the ears and the red body.  Then I added air into the heart balloon making sure it filled under the 250 and not above it.  I added an apple twisted 350 scrap and tied it to the lip of the heart and then added the ears and body etc.  I used adobe photoshop to change the colour of the model from white to pink.  I don't know how big you wanted the Peppa Pig but I have put the pump in next to it to give it scale.

Here is the other one that came out of the pot.  Not Peppa Pig obviously.

This last version looks very realistic. Superbe!

Here is a slightly easier nose twisting an apple twist in half and pushing it in.  Its less likely to fly out when you are constructing it if you have that trouble.

I was just about to post on the thread and was looking at the two pigs you made Thelma,
the one with the split tulip twist is more pig like and the other one I think in white would be a good polar bear?
As I was looking that is what came to mind.

Well I think I just made a world record for attempting the pig and the words "A Disaster Darling" springs to mind, the balloons kept popping, going down, the snout kept flying off the balloon or going down. It went on and on and for not a lot of payback, I was thinking of not posting the pictures but then thought no I have spent hours and got no where fast, sometimes you get days like this. Other times it all falls into place. So my rubbishy pig, which I think does not even look like a pig  :(

These are a little better, I changed the size of the head and made the snout out of pink rather than rose.

Patronising.....ah bless
Encouraging: well it's different
Agreeable: yes I get days like that. On the day I decided to do Peppa pig and the alternative everything I tried worked out. Other days nothing does. I have. Ow made that pig 4 times and not had any problems so I don't know what to say really!
