Title: One Balloon Chat Challenge
Post by: Graham Lee on April 16, 2008, 08:56:28 AM
You can post whatever you like made from one balloon, then we need a variation with the same animal/thing before we move on. Just an Idea   :?:
We could end up with a few variations on a theme, so please post away or I'll try & post something later on.

There was a picture on balloon hq this morning of an elephant made from a geo. I liked the way the eyes were made on it and it inspired me to have a go with a 160. Here's the result. Will post more pictures of this on the one balloon wonder thread.

I normally do my elephant using a Geo for the body 260 for ears and trunk and a 5" round for the eyes so had to come up with a 1 balloon elephant I used a 260.

Hi Dave,

I know this part of the forum is for one balloon models, but I would love to see your elephant balloon using the geo. I have only recently discovered the geo, and would love to get some different variations on how people are using them.

Any chance of showing us a pic?

Thanks

Billy

Just to try & get a few more joining in on this game, anyone can post to start & then hopefully someone else will post a variation of the same model.
So far we have had;

Vacum cleaner
Elephant x 2
Fish
Dinosaeur

You can post any of these animals again as long as it's another variation, so here comes the next one; a bike. So if you have another version please post, there are instructions posted on how to upload a picture onto the site,

This is so simple i almost didn't bother posting my fish - but hey... here is a fish... on a rod!

Here are some variations for a one ballon fish for the fishing rod.
I've not made this for ages, sometimes you just forgt so many good & usable things.
So I definately will start making the fish on a fishing rod again.
Title: Re: One Balloon Chat Challenge
Post by: Graham Lee on May 15, 2008, 09:24:41 AM
I used to put the fishing rod on a hat as well so that the fish was dangling in front of the wearer, movement is always better.
I'm surprised at the varying different looks to the fish especially as it's only a one balloon model.
See how easily pleased I am :)
A couple more variations;

That is probably the nicest one balloon bike I have seen.  Usually people have problems guessing what they are looking at.  Good Job.

Hi, here is a variation on a one balloon motorcycle i made a while ago. Although i must admit its not my design.

I admit tecnically there are 2 balloons as its a 160 threaded inside a 260, but this is the only picture i can find at this moment in time, and i was hoping you'd go easy on me as this is my first post other then the welcome page i did.   :D

Here is a 1 balloon T-rex (if you don't count the teeth). It's a slightly modified version of one I saw by Mark Small.

A one balloon mouse inspired by Fabrizio.

A one balloon elephant.  The design is Patrick Van de Ven's.

Monkey courtesy Michael Floyd. Oops! Shouldn't have tried to do feet - don't usually, and didn't leave enough tail. This can be worn as a bracelet.

Oops! Oh no! I didn't look properly at Graham's bike, and I did a motorbike instead.    Well, you can take it as a variation on the bike, or you can take it as an introduction of a new model.

Cheers,

It's just the traditional 260q qualatex black. Maybe it's due to the light that it looks a different colour?

Brontosaurus by Ralph Dewey, I think. This is just about the easiest and quickest animal that I know how to make.

I thought I had worked this out myself, but then I saw a post from Dave Hickory on another forum, with the identical owl.  :(  I probably saw it before, and it was floating around in my head.

Anyway, this is my take on a North American Screech Owl.

Title: Re: One Balloon Chat Challenge

Kath, This thread has gone slightly off topic?
The idea was to post any animal & then someone else would post a variation, then the next person could post anything & then another variation.
So shall we see if we can get that going again?
Title: Re: One Balloon Chat Challenge
Post by: koolkatkiwi on July 22, 2008, 10:15:15 PM
Oh, I am sorry! I completely misunderstood the whole thing! I had thought, especially after you gave the list of models that we'd done - that we could all do variations on all the models, just adding more and more as we went along. I guess that would end up with everything being too messy. Sorry about the motorbike as well.  :(

Cheers,
Kath 8-)

I was thinking along the same lines Petra.  I was playing with it to make a fairy wand though using a silver ballooon. Of course it would mean using another balloon for the stick part.
