This is just my opinion, but I wouldn't wait until your children are all grown up.  I have a 2year old and I find that each of my winning pieces the past two months were inspired by different characters in a few of the many children's books she has.  I just simply wait until everyone has gone to bed, grab a few of my daughters books and sneak down stairs to my studio and let the balloons take me where they want to go.  Not only does the piece get submitted for the contest, but my daughter wakes up to a fun balloon for her to play with for the next week.  I wouldn't worry about whether you are good enough or not because many of the winning pieces are not overly complicated.  I think when you sit down and play, you might be surprised what you can come up with.  Good luck!

I agree with Dennis...

I have entered a few things to each of the color contest. I do not have any expectations for winning.
Ok maybe a couple times I thought I might have a chance. hahaha

Joining in the fun is just that fun!! It also gives me an excuse to play!!

Should we post our blue things here just to show? I will start!

Here are three out of the 4-5 I entered!~

I just entered the blush competition. I know I am a relative novice but I enjoyed having a go at the challenge.  :)

Some great entries Fudd!  Love the Walrus and the genie!  This months color (blush) has convinced me that it is my least favorite color of all.  This is the most challenging color to work with.
