New Year. New Tag.
So Daisydoos will start the New Tag for 2011.

Just logged on and had a pm notifying me of this.
I've been in bed for a week, so just getting back into the real world.

It's a bit of a cheat as I was trying a copy of Patricia Bunnell's Thomas the Tank Engine hat that I saw on Facebook, but it's a wearable and it's a new one for me, so here it is :D

PS, It was Kenny (Pinchtwist) who is running these competitions, who is compiling a list of people who want to join in. I think he is asking anyone who wants to have a go to PM him.
Lisa that is a very usable hat, would be well funny in a shopping centre seeing someone attempting to get around the shops with wings that size.
Will make this the next time Lord G and I work together, should be funny.

Wanted to try the wasp that Colin showed at the care and share day on Weds, so this was a good excuse to try it. They are best found in the garden, far more preferable than in the house ....................... unless of course they are London Wasps then we are all house trained :D :D :D :D :D

I'm off to a show in a minute for a school, then a Russian lesson, then a meeting with a potential new host family for Chernobyl kids, so to make something with a Russian theme today is appropriate. I'll make something tonight.

During my tours to Belarus & Ukraine, I spend most of my time with children in orphanages and hospitals. So I decided I would choose a photo from an orphange for children with disabilities. I love this photo of teenage boy dressed as a spaceman and I'm sure you'll agree from the size of his smile that he loved his balloon.
The face on the balloon looks a bit strange as it has a clear 'mask' on the nose!

okay...here is my Thomas. I didn't quite make it with 5 balloons but it's not too bad.
It is actually 5, a round, and a scrap...does that count? (1-blue 350, 1-blue 260, 1-black 260, 1-black 160, 1-red 160,
1- 5" white round and a white scrap 160 for the smoke.

It really doesn't take that long to put it together. Maybe 7 to 8 minutes tops. It's the artwork that takes a bit - if you want it to look nice...lol. But even that isn't horrible. It's very similar to the one on my 'Boys' DVD...just a little different. ;) :D

OK - not a good effort but it is cat (sort of) wearing boots but no hat or cape I'm afraid - I've been traveling a lot this week so haven't had much time - that and my lack of talent didn't help but if I don't join in stuff like this I won't progress

OK Lisa, no problem. That is why I just did the quick E.T as I'm driving up to Blackpool at the moment for a convention, I then travel home on Monday and then off to Bath on Tuesday for a day of balloon modelling at the university.

Here is Mr Incredible. Well a quickly thrown together one. Sorry I didnt have time to do it properly. I was going to make the hands more like fists but I had to dash out so it didnt really get finished properly. The head is too narrow. I should have used a round instead.

Thinking about the jellyfish (and keeping distracted) It would also look good with thinner strands of dental floss in amongst the 160's, and maybe blue scraps inserted in the 160's everynow and then too?

Yes I was just explaining to Lisa in a PM that I have had David Brenion over for three days from the US for the lecture day yesterday and then with a busy weekend coming up and another lecture day next week we have been busy busy busy. I'm sorting all the pictures from the lecture day yesterday at the moment to post onto the forum so will try to sort this out sometime soon'ish.
Ball and triple catcher, you have to catch the ball in both ends and then on the side spike as well. Mission Impossible?

Just thought I should apologise for mucking this up. As Some know from Face book my Father passed away on the day of the David Brennan lecture (that's why I missed that) and things have been a bit messed up for me.
I also have some thing else rather big happening at the moment (more about that in the next couple of weeks)
But I am sorry to have stalled this, as I think it is a brilliant way of sparking imagination.
One last thing just wanted to say a thanks and well done to Kenny for keeping these threads ticking along.

Yeah I did myself a favour with the lips , mine are nowhere near that luscious. I must admit I didn't enjoy making me. I found it quite hard.
does anyone have any tips for making glasses on this size of thing. I ended up making cardboard versions.

I use pipe cleaners inside a balloon with just a puff of air.
Here's my ship. I was planning on adding more detail but time has eluded me and so here is the basic version. I do love these little pirate print rounds though.

I know someone who will be delighted with the use of the latex sheet for the hat and apron!
Thanks Martin :D . Daniel McCullough got me started with it. (thanks Daniel) There are more and more testing out sheet latex...I'm trying to find all kinds of uses for it. The only thing I didn't like about the hat, is the sheet latex I had was very heavy. It was hard bracing the head to hold it up straight.
Is no one up for a character in Rango? I can change it. How about a fox...is anyone up for that?
