Picture Gallery / Childs Play
May 04, 2016, 10:11:36 PM
A while ago I was watching a load of "Saw" DVDs, and decided to have a go at Jigsaw, the doll from the films.  saw-t10427.html

On the same theme of killer dolls, I saw a model of Chucky from the "Childsplay" films posted by PTurner, (who has some great sculptures) so I thought I would have a go.

Here is how he turned out ......

Picture Gallery / Stork with baby
April 30, 2016, 08:46:41 PM
Usually I make a stork standing up, as in the first pic, but was asked for something smaller as the family were travelling in a very loaded up car for the birth of their first grandchild

I came up with the idea of doing basically the same thing, as they liked the design, but having the stork sitting in a nest, to make it more manageable.

I first made it with a different head, but did not like it, so a quick bit of surgery changed it to my usual design which I like a lot better

The flower I made pink and blue, and the basket lilac, as they did not know whether it would be a boy or girl

Picture Gallery / Menu pictures out on the streets.
April 13, 2016, 01:41:19 AM
I do apologise that this will be a long line of pics, but hey ho, here we go.

These are the pics from my board, they are awesome and efficient, and thank you to all who have made these designs possible, mainly two fabulous ladies, Thelma and Christine. Love ya xx

PS.   I find it easier that everything is the same price, and I tend to judge my prices on a par with any face painters I work with, and we keep our prices more or less level.

I was watching some of the "Saw" series of films over the weekend, so thought I would have a go at the puppet character.

Not too happy about him at the moment ...... he seems to look more like Michael Jackson  :D

I will have another go tomorrow changing a few things, and maybe he will look better on his bike, I will keep you posted

February 18, 2016, 03:09:52 PM
I am going out tonight to see a friends band playing at a local heavy metal bar that I go to, so I thought I would pull out a few photos of balloons I have made for them. I was meaning to post a Lemmy portrait after he passed away, but someone ( I am so sorry I can't remember who......but it was Excelent  :D ) beat me to it.

I was sent this photo, and asked if I could make any of them......I thought hey, why not make them all  :D  :D

Hope you like them !

Picture Gallery / Evolution of a Bride and Groom
January 30, 2016, 01:38:02 AM
Most of the Bride and Groom sculptures I make are pretty static looking, just side by side, but for one I am doing later in the year I wanted to do something a bit different to that.

1. The couple are quite young, and she will be in a short dress, so I wanted to do a less formal setting.

2. I wanted to have rounds and draw on faces, rather than lootle style heads

3. I have always liked how Thelma uses feathers and fabric in her sculptures, so I wanted to try that idea

As I am not doing much now, I thought I would run through some ideas, which I have been doing during the week.

I have enjoyed seeing how Graham's designs evolve, so thought I would take photos as I went along, and post them here.

This is how the couple ended up .......

Picture Gallery / New Popeye Vs Old Popeye
January 03, 2016, 11:31:02 AM
I am updating my portfolio at the moment, and making new versions of various balloons I like, and have just re-made Popeye.

The first was a design from the Italian balloon book, which I made probably about 6 yrs ago. The second I made yesterday, and was particularly pleased with the way the lower jaw turned out.

Hope you like it  :D

Picture Gallery / Inspired by Rob
January 03, 2016, 11:15:45 AM
Rob is not only an awesome twister, but a fantastic photographer, so I tried to make this last photo of mine a bit more creative.

It is a friends birthday today. He is a great Dr Who fan, and often likens his flat to the Tardis due to the amount of junk in it, so I made the tardis for him.

I seem to remember Rob made a tardis, and photo shopped it flying through space. Rather than photo my tardis just standing there, this was the route I went for. Not knowing anything about photoshop, I pinned a black sheet to my bedroom wall, and hung the balloon in front of it .....well space is black !

I then made three loops of clear 160s to make a kind of wormhole thing, and sellotaped them to the sheet, and got the photo. It needed a bit of adjustment, so I took the brightness down to make the background sheet more even, and brought the contrast up to bring out the tardis.

It still needed a bit more, so I used "paint" on my laptop to add the stars, and then Hey Presto....this is how it came out.

Thank you Rob for your inspiration  :D  :D

Picture Gallery / Cats and cats paws
December 01, 2015, 01:53:12 PM
I made this cat today, loosely based on Dylan's design.

I have never been really happy with the front paws of any animal sitting like this coming together in one great lump of paw, so came up with this idea.

Each brown front leg has a pinch twist at the end, and then a group of 3 white pinch twists, with a tail of uninflated balloon is twisted into this, making quite a firmly twisted in white paw.

The ends of the tails are then tied together behind the white tummy, leaving the legs nicely placed each side if the white tummy balloon.

Hi All,

Not done any proper twisting for ages, so to get in to the swing of things for our "Big Belgium Adventure"
I got the balloons out today, and made this chainsaw wielding bunny, and the boxing kangaroo.

I have never made a kangaroo before, so was quite pleased with how it came out  :D
