Do you use weaving much and helpful do you find it? Do you feel the effort and amount of balloons you put in are worth the end result?

Hi Bickers,

I've never tried it, I've heard of it, but not sure exactly what it is. I would appreciate it if someone could post a pic here of an example of something weaved.

Thanks Bickers, they're fantastic. In my ignorance, for some reason I guessed weaving was like platts made with three balloons but on a bigger scale . . . . DUH!! :)  Not sure what I was thinking off??

I've done things like this on a smaller scale, like top hats etc. It's the sort of the thing that is great for special occasions. I would like to make a dress one day. I think they can look so glamerous, it would be great for a publicty pic for the website.

Graham, how long would you guess it would take one person to make a long'ish dress for a child size?

At a guesstamate I would go for 2/3 hours for a child. The dress on my website took with accessories approx 6/8 hours.

Hi Graham,

The two shows are in Plymouth's Marjon theatre on Wednesday 6th August. Includes acts from Billy Wiz (Not sure if he's any good :) ), Emazdad the magician, Spangles the clown, Kimmo the ventriliquist (winner of the world childrens entertainer of the year at Blackpool this year) as well as singers and dancers. Should be a great show. Last year we raised a whopping £1071 profit for the appeal.

If anyone would like to make a donation towards the 'Make A Smile Appeal' we would be sooooo grateful. The appeal was started last year to raise funds to bring smiles with the help of magic and balloon modeling to the children of Belarus in orphanages and hospitals etc. More details at http://www.makeasmile.co.uk Our appeal paypal address is info@makeasmile.co.uk

Thanks for offering the 'plug' Graham :)

Graeme,

Thanks very much for volunteering to be the first member to be interviewed on the forum & answering the questions so comprehensively. Good luck with the trip.
Hopefully you can log on a few times to keep us all informed on how it’s going.

Wow.........I have to say, I am throughly impressed. I have to thank you for portraying the entertainment industry so professionaly and compassionatley (dose this have spell check? you get the idea) and can only hope that your actions and Heart inspire other performers to continue your work.
Myself, I've toured institutions across the US for the Kennedy Foundation (Special Olympics) for the severly Retarded.
The most satisfying feeling I've ever had is watching faces light up, and being told by the care-givers, fighting back tears, that some of these people havn't smiled in years.
Keep up the good work

Thanks Graham,

The show went absolutly amazing. We raised a massive £1551 for the appeal in one day with two shows. I'll have some pics available soon, just waiting for the photographer to call me.
