I was contacted by an Andrew Clarke about twisting at their band competition on 5th June in Bradford. they want £50 for the stall and it is then pay per piece. I said he'd be struggling as most twisters work price per job, but said I'd post it on here.

If you are interested please contact him direct on 01274874000.

You would have to be there all day for 6/8 hours to stand any chance of just breaking even.

Which is one reason I didn't take the job.

It's interesting how often we seem to be contacted to "pay' for a stall.

Sometimes, you can get gigs out of them by asking them what entertainment they have for kids, and why they could charge much higher rates to other stall holders for those next to the balloon twister, if the balloons are made for free, which means an hourly rate for yourself that is subsidized by the adjacent stalls higher fees.

This works more at larger expos or open days with lots of stalls, not sure if that is the situation for the band competition or not?

Also these are good leads to get paid work from a stall holder twisting at their stand so they can discuss their products with those waiting in line.

Always useful as starting point if you want more work, even though it's not what the initial contact wanted from us... :)
