I've seen reference to this in a previous post as a means of publicising contact details.  Once I've mastered half a dozen or so items (beyond the simple dog), I plan to do some busking on behalf of a charity (with an official collector's can).

The label idea struck me as quite a good one; i.e a small label with contact details stuck on every completed item so there's a guarantee that my contact details are passed on with every balloon.  Do any of you others do this? or do you stick with flyers and business cards? Or maybe all three?

Advice appreciated.  Thanks
Will

Hi Will,

I give out a card with a caracture on one side and my details on the other. The sticker would be ok until the balloon pops and they might forget it's on there when that happens.

Might even try to pull it off while the balloon is still ok -  Pop!

I wouldn't say it's a daft idea Will, I also thought about that some time ago, we can't both be daft ;)

I think thats a great idea, but maybe you should get ribbons printed or little disks that you could thread the knot of the balloon through.

I've discussed this issue a couple of times, and the solution we came up with was to hole-punch you business card and to tie a ribbon to it.

This ribbon can be then wrapped, or tied to a model to ensure all models have a card.

Although thinking further if the ribbon is soft enough and only 'pulled' tightly through a solid twist within your model, it easily comes out if some one tugs on the card allowing them to keep the model intact and keep your card.

Why not just give the a business card or have them on the side and say "Please take one" This way it goes into their pocket or bag, so no chance of losing it. And it saves you time to make more models.

Just my thought on the matter. I've done a few of these days in supermarkets. It seems to work best.

once on a quiet job to advertise myself i did very simple ladybirds and slid a card between body and legs then gave out to kids, mum dad took the card and put it away and child kept ladybug turtle etc on the wrist, this way you dont feel like you are thrusting card upon unwilling recipients.  child gets a little something parents thinks oh how lovely.  winner all round.

I print cards 8 up on A4 with "This belongs to...." so child can write their name and my details on one side. The other has caring for your balloon tips.

Printed black on colour card sock.

Punch hole in card.

Attach with #16 rubber band from Staples.

Every balloon sold/handed out has a label including the dog.

Check out Professional Portfolio for Balloon Artists by Bruce Kalver for full details of the above and some other great ideas.
