Hi there!

I just started twisting in may this year.
I can now do around 12 different models, how many is a good number to start advertising myself as a balloon modeller? is there a benchmark?
So far I've done a couple of gigs for friends and a couple of days busking. what would be a good way forward? Can you help with any tips?

I started just after Christmas and found a good way to test popularity and interest in the area (as well as promotion) was to raise money for comic relief.  I made about £200 and people loved the balloons - so I decided to do kids parties, and learned as I went.  I imagine as long as you are upfront with what you can do then people can choose for themselves.  My kids have been to a few parties where it's just swords being made and they loved it!  Everyone starts somewhere.  Good luck

Twelve is easily enough. I make eight models at every party I do. I can make others, but the eight I make I can make quickly, even though they are multi-balloon figures.

Hi i would test yourself at a charity fun-day or school fun-day this will test how well you know your designs and how fast you can get them out.  this will also get your face out and about at your target audience. the mams and dads.

just think about what you are going to say if a kid ask for something you don't know

good look
Thanks

Yes 12 will be fine. When I first started out I had about the same amount of designs. These were printed out and pinned to a board. I thought that they were rubbish as they were basic designs and I've seen so much better yet people would come up and look at my board and be like 'wow there amazing' and that encourages you. Some will be more popular than others and you learn as you go along to take out old ones and replace with more popular ones. Check me out sounding like an old pro.
