Has anyone had any experience with selling balloons at trade and craft fairs? I'm particularly interested in those based in the UK, but still please share your opinion if you are based in another country. My idea is to set up a stall at a craft fair with some interesting designs try to sell them and hopefully generate some interest in children's parties. Any thoughts on this idea?

Thanks

Chris

I think the best way is to find one that is sensibly priced and give it a go, maybe if you do magic you could offer a free 45 min magic show in return for a stand.
Make sure it is a big all day craft fair like crafts for christmas with hundreds of stalls and a good foot fall throughout the day.

I tried it several years ago. It was a monthly event on a Saturday. I found I sold very few balloons, but picked up the odd party. I ended up giving the balloons away and handing out cards. With it being on a Saturday I could have made much more doing parties.
I noticed people with regular stalls brought books and knitting with them as there were long periods of nobody walking around.
Overall, it cost me money.
The event has been operating for several years but I couldn't make a profit.

Ahhh thanks for that. I went to my first one to look around yesterday. Pretty boring stuff there, apart from the cup cake stall!
