Title: February 2018 Model Of The Month (Dog)
Post by: Graham Lee on January 26, 2018, 10:42:37 AM
We are going with the dog design this month that we only came up with
on the Sunday of last week at Twist & Shout.

I was sitting with Helen Budinger having a chat and a twist, Helen is a lovely lady and
suggested the puff inflate of the 160 go inside the mouth which I thought was a nice addition.

I will put the step by step instruction up next week sometime, the dog is a 160 and a 260.

We are all ready for the instructions, all the pictures have been taken and
re-sized for the forum. Just need a while to post the step by step instructions.

This is what is being sent out with the balloon orders in the complimentary packs.
Hopefully enough balloons plus spares.

Here we go then, the instructions for this months model of the month.
The two balloon dog.

For the first couple of times you might want to pre-stretch the 260 as it needs
to go a long way, or just add an extra 260 and call it a three balloon dog.

Inflate the 260 and 160 leaving approx. 6 fingers in-inflated.
Make two 2 finger fold twists in the 160 balloon and then make a 3
finger bubble in the 260 and attach the 160 fold twists to the 260.

Carrying on with the 160, make a 3 finger bubble followed by two 1 finger pinch twists.

For the ears of the dog twist a 4 finger and 2 finger bubble in the 160 and attached to the
two pinch twists. Then make the other ear the same with a 4 finger and 2 finger bubble
twisted into the two pinch twists.

Then twist a 3 finger bubble in the 160 and twist this into the two fold twists.

Attach the 3 finger bubble from the 260 into the two pinch twists from the 160.

With the 260 balloon make a 3 finger bubble followed by two 1 finger pinch twists.
Then make a 1.5 finger pinch twists for the lower section of the dogs mouth.

You then need a 3 finger bubble in the 260 back to the fold twists in the 160.

Make a 1 finger bubble in the 260 followed by a 1.5 finger pinch twist.
With the 160 balloon make a 1 finger bubble and twist this into the 260 pinch twist.

You then have to make the front legs, twists two 4 finger bubbles
and twist back into the pinch twist.

Make a 5 finger bubble followed by a 1.5 finger pinch twist with the 260 balloon.

You then need to make the back legs which is two 4 finger bubbles.
Twist these into the pinch twist.
You might run out of balloon here, if so you could just have one
bubble for the body but I then take a 5 finger bubble back to the
pinch twists and the front of the dog to give him a fuller body.

Take the 160 and push between the front legs and twist a bubble
into the back legs of the dog, approx. a 5/6 finger bubble.

At this point the 160 for the tail is far too long. If you wrap it a couple of times
around the rear pinch twist and break off. Deflate to the required length,
I think mine was a 6/7 finger bubble and then re-tie to the broken off 160
around the rear pinch twist.

If you did run out of 260 to make the second 5 finger bubble for the body
you could use the 160 back and forth twice to fill this out and the tail
might end up at the correct length without breaking it off.
There are a couple of ways to get from A to B.

Inflate the black 160 to 2 fingers and make a soft knot so the bubble is more
rounder than pinch twist looking.

Attach this to the two 1 finger pinch twists.
Then tie the 160 around the mouth section to give it definition,
discard the rest of the 160 balloon.

Inflate the green 260 leaving 7 fingers in-inflated, make three 3
finger fold twists followed by a 1 finger pinch twist.

Push the pinch twists between the lower section of the front legs.
Then make between a 3/4 finger spacer bubble and then another 1 finger pinch twist.
Secure this pinch twists between the back legs and then make four 3 finger fold twists.
I like to have different amount of twists from the front and back legs.
You might like to have three both front and back.
