The man in the plane is this months challenge for those that are up for a challenge ;) :D
Here is the man in a plane and a super fast man in a plane - vary basic for lines
Will a flying mouse do :D
Silver did not quite work for the wings in the pic  looks a lot better in real latex. :)
Roger, I like the map underneath the flying mouse!!!
:D
Very much like the head of the man on Grahams sculpture, though could not figure out to make it properly.
So looking forward to the instructions :)

Not a man in a plane ...Wonder Woman in her invisible plane!
Hi Graham,
Very nice model this month, I would love to try it..
If I had some balloons!!!!
TwIsT On.
Hi Graham,
I managed to find some scraps, Here is what i came up with..
Thanks Graham!!!
TwIsT On..
This is the third time of trying to put the instructions up but I'm having trouble with spyware :o so the computer keeps crashing and the technicians have just finished working on it and say it's OK. My digital camera is also still playing up so these instructions may be a bit of a challenge for me to get on.
They are also a bit late due to my very busy, hectic & very stressful February due to all the problems with getting over to America and with attanding the Blackpool magic convention, so fingers crossed here we go with the instructions for the plane,
The main body,
Inflate a 260 fully and tie the ends together, then divide into two.
Twist the centre of these two bubbles together and finally fold them over on top of each other and push just one side of one of the loops through the other to lock into place.
You need to end up with four bubbles of approx 10 finger length so that it looks like a rugby ball.
Rear tail section
Inflate the second 260 leaving a 4/5 finger un-inflated and twist two 2 finger pinch twists. Then a 6 finger bubble followed by two 3 finger twists locked into the end of the 6 finger bubble. You then need two more 3 finger bubbles locked into the same point on the balloon. These are for the side fins of the tail plane, and then a 4 finger bubble and a 2 finger bubble again locked into the same point on the balloon.
Twist a 2 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist where the rear wheels will lock into.
The rear wheels are a 260 4 finger bubble that is tulip twisted and then split in half, instructions for this can be found here;
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1102 (http://balloonchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=1102)
Attach the wheels around the pinch twist of the rear tail section.
Attach the two pinch twists from the rear tail section through the main body of the plane.
The wings
Inflate a 260 leaving 1 finger un-inflated, twist a 4 finger bubble at the nipple end of the balloon and wrap the knot around this twist. Divide the big fold twist in half for the two wings.
You could then put a twist into each wing in the middle but I think the wings take on a more pleasing shape if they are slightly off set. Twist a 3 finger bubble and a 1 finger pinch twist to attach the front wheels too.
Make the front wheels with a 6 finger tulip twist split in half from a 360 and attach to the pich twist below the wings. Position the wings through the body of the plane
Propeller
Inflate a 160 about half way, twist a 4/5 finger bubble followed by three very soft 1 finger pinch twists and then another 4/5 finger bubble, tie off balloon and use the rest of the 160 for the last part of the 4/5 finger bubble for the propeller.
With a scrap from the 160 tie the propeller this very tightly to the front of the plane as you don't want the propeller falling off at 10.000 feet........do you!
Finishing touch is to add a very small red bubble to the front.
I did the plane by the instuctions, love the way you did the wheels.
To make the flying man/lady;
Arms & Body
Inflate a 160 leaving 6 fingers un-inflated; twist a 5/6 finger bubble followed by two 2 finger pinch twists. Then a 4 finger body bubble and a 1 finger pinch twist, this pinch twist will hold the man in the plane by twisting it around the centre of the wings later.
Do another 4 finger bubble for the front of the body, twist this around the two pinch twists and then finish with a 5/6 finger bubble for the other arm.
You then will need two 2 finger pinch twists for either hand.
Head;
Head Construction,
Inflate a 160 leaving 4/5 fingers un-inflated. You start with the cheek bubble of 2/3 fingers followed by a 1 finger pinch twist for the nose, another 2/3 finger twist and a 2 finger pinch twist for the first ear.
Then twist a 5/6 finger bubble for the lower jaw and a 2 finger pinch twist for the second ear.
Twist the knot of the balloon around the second ear.
Next comes the back of the head which is a 2 finger bubble (this is where the neck will be attached later) another 2 finger bubble and then twist the balloon around the ear to secure.
The top of the head is a 2 finger bubble, 1.5 finger bubble and then the last 2 finger bubble and attach around the ear again.
With the scrap left over from making the head or you can use a new balloon you need two 1 finger pinch twists that get attached between the two 2 finger back of the head bubbles and then a 2 finger neck bubble that will attach to the body.
Attach a 160 to the ear and twist a 2 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist which goes into the top of the forehead.
Twist a 3 finger bubble back to the same ear then a 2 finger bubble twisted around the kneck pinch twists followed by another 2 finger bubble twisted around the second ear.
A 3 finger bubble from the ear to the top of the forehead, attach with a 1 finger pinch twist. A 2 finger bubble over the top of the head and attach it to the other pinch twist then two 1 finger bubbles and attach back to the other pinch twist and to finish a 2 finger bubble back down and secured at the ear.
Take the remaining balloon or a new one and attach to the forehead pinch twist, twist a 4 finger bubble around the two neck pinch twists and then the last 4 finger bubble back to the other forehead pinch twist.
The eyes are just two 2 finger bubbles that I attach through the head and onto the two neck pinch twists and push fit into place, draw on the eyes.
Use a very soft 160 for a smile and stretch betwen both ears.
The scarf flying in the wind is a un-inflated 260 with some cardboard inside wrapped around the neck
We tried a few variations on the hair as It's the one area that I seem to struggle with and am always changing.
These all looked a bit girly to me but I do like the construction of the first style and the two pink pinch twists would be better in yellow as well.
Well I had a go & thanks for the instructions.

Flying Tonight!
What program did you use to the that photo?
None! It's done the old fashioned way. I stuck him on a Diamond Clear and waved him about on my terrace - that's the view from my flat.
Heres my attempt!
Hi Guys, This is a great piece.I really enjoyed making it and it was a big hit too. Thanks again, Lorcan.
Graham,
Thanks for the lovely design....
That looks really nice,
Is it my imagination, or does the man's head look a bit like Mr Bean
Could be used as a basis for a caricature......I can just imagine Mr Bean in a plane :D :D :D
Had a go at this one for restaurant where I work tonight. Went with the red, white and blue theme for upcoming Independence Day!
So glad you pulled this post forward Rainbow. I had a go at it too and I like mine without the little man. (It sure was easier than that darn parrot)
I like you plane without the man. Nice to go back to some of the older posts and give them a try.
