Inflate a 3 finger bubble, split into two and pinch twist, again attach around the top two pinch twists.
Add some artwork.

I think the original butterfly that I posted the wings were made from two balloons, if you did this you could add some extra colour and make them larger.
The back of the butterfly, the lower wings fit into the top wings to hold in place with the rear pinch twist.

I really like the butterfly Graham.I just have a preferance to the smaller models.I like to do as many different models and as big a varity as possible when working at an event.

Hi Stephen, Do you include the butterfly as a smaller model ? Just that I've been looking around the forum and people have been saying they would like a more basic section. That is why I have started the 52, one a week thread for balloons that hopefully can be made more in the real world and line work, I would make the butterfly in the real world but appreciate some people want to be really quick with the turn around of their ballooon models.

Thanks so much for bumping these threads, there is so much on this site I seem to flit from one idea to the next when searching - but now I see how the model of the month works will be having a look through all the posts.

(Plus I read a lot on my phone in the middle of the night while feeding my baby so is not ideal time for searching but is easy to view the new unread posts and learn - if I can't be sleeping might as well do something useful  :D )

So I followed the instructions and this is the result - am very happy with it.   Is there any special way to 'discard' rest of balloon - I had a look round using search but couldn't see anything specific.  I think will try another but use two balloons for the wings.
