I'm just working out the next model of the month for June,
at the moment either the horse or the two balloon sausage dog.
The two white horses are slightly different in design.
Working out what goes together best and sits nicely.
Playing with the horse design.
This months challenge is going to be the Horse/Pony design we have been playing about with.
Some variations I made today.
I changed the eyes, the wild berry eyes looked a little scary to me.
I will put the instructions up soon.
This is what will come in the complimentary packs with all balloon orders for June.
If you make the design and post it then you will be entered into the draw to win a balloon modelling DVD.
If you do not purchase from us then no problem, please join in for fun.
It's always nice to see some variations on a theme.
Here come the instructions for the horse/pony. It would not take much to make the design a unicorn as well.
So inflate the white 260 leaving approx. 6 fingers un-inflated.
Twist a 2 finger and a 2.5 finger bubble and make into two pinch twists.
I have the larger bubble as the lower mouth section.
Then twist a 4 finger bubble and a 1.5 finger pinch twist.
Make another 4 finger bubble and twist into the mouth section
followed by a 5 finger bubble back to the 1.5 finger pinch twist.
Then make a 5 finger bubble for the neck of the horse and then a two 2 finger pinch twist.
Then make the second 2 finger pinch twist.
The last section of the white 260 should be a 5 finger bubble for the first leg.
Inflate the Caribbean Blue 240 for the feet, only inflate about half as you will not use all the balloon.
Make a 3 finger fold twist followed by a 1.5 finger pinch twist.
Then three more 3 finger fold twists for the feet of the horse.
Attach the 5 finger leg bubble into the fold twist from the first balloon.
Inflate the next 260 white leaving 6 fingers un-inflated and attach into the fold twists.
Make a 5 finger bubble and twist into the two pinch twists.
Then make another 5 finger bubble for the body and a 1.5 finger pinch twist.
The tail and rear legs will attach around this pinch twist.
Make another 5 finger bubble for one of the rear legs and twist this around the four fold twists.
Then the last leg is another 5 finger bubble twisted into the rear pinch twist
and then another 5 finger body bubble twisted into the two front pinch twists.
I then make a 4 finger and 1 finger bubble for the last body bubble.
For me this makes the body shape down slightly at the back.
(You could just have another 5 finger bubble)
The 4 finger and 1 finger bubbles and pushed into the centre of the top body bubbles.
Inflate the white 160 leaving 6 fingers un-inflated, attach this to the front two pinch twists.
Make three bubbles to fit up the side of the neck so approx. 1.5 finger sections.
You then need to make an ear, I made a 4 finger and 2.5 finger bubble.
This could be smaller or bigger depending on what you prefer.
In grey bigger as the design could then be a donkey.
Twist the ear bubbles around the pinch twist and then twist another 4 and 2.5 finger bubble for the other ear.
Attach around the same pinch twist.
Make 3 more approx. 1.5 finger bubbles for down the horses neck and twist into the pinch twists.
You then need a 5 finger bubble twisted into the rear pinch twist.
I then twist the 160 a few times around the pinch twist and break off but not deflating.
Push the air to the end of the 160 and make approx. a 4/5 finger bubble for the tail
of the horse and twist this into the pinch twist,
you could tie both of the ends of the 160 back up hers for safety.
This leaves the clean look to the end of the 160 so not having a knot at the end.
Inflate the 160 Caribbean blue to about half way, you are not using all the balloon for this.
Make between a 4/5 finger bubble,
this does depend on the size of the two pinch twists you made for the mouth.
Then a 1 finger pinch twist and a 3/4 finger bubble and another 1 finger pinch twist.
Wrap this balloon around the mouth of the horse and tie in the knot of the balloon around a pinch twist.
Depending where you are going to have the reins around the neck and how low looking
you want the face of the horse depends on the next two bubble sizes.
Anything from 6 finger to 8 finger bubbles will work,
it depends on how you would like the look of your horse to be, decisions, decisions.
This balloon modelling can be very stressful ;)
Attach the second bubble around the neck and onto the other pinch twist of the rein.
This is how the reins on mine look.
The remainder of the Caribbean Blue 160 I use for the eyes.
Make a 3 finger bubble, split into two and make two 1.5 finger pinch twists.
Insert these into the head section.
A couple of ways the reins could fit, it's decision time..................good luck!
If you have a look at the variations at the beginning of this thread
as changing the colours of the design does make a difference to the look.
It could look a little my little pony if required.
I also made a variation a few weeks back.
You can see in this picture how the back of the body looks bigger by
having the last body bubble a 4 and a 1 finger bubble.
Hi ho very nice horse :D
