I went up to the magic circle tonight as they had the Young Magicians club entertaining with a show. The members ranged from 10/18 and they had 3 people doing close up, 2 parlour and 3 a stage show.
What a great night and they were all very skilful with stage presence for such a young age, well worth the trip up to London.
Just wanted to share  :)

The magic circle Young magicians are very active. They have days when the youths perform (once a year, they have a BIG awards performance) and then once a month, there is an Ali Bongo show.

Young members come from all over the country once a month. They spend all day at workshops and then there is a great Ali Bongo show in the evening (he used to organise and compere it, so they've named it after him, the performers are mostly seasoned magicians) - intended to attract paying grown ups (£5 last time I went - open to non-members, although you might need an invitation - easy to arrange).  Some people have to slip out early since the young magicians have a long way to travel home!

A group of very dedicated parents ensure that they come down regularly.

So if you have a young magician that would benefit from going, bring them along (at least get SOMEONE to, since you are likely to be working on Saturdays!!!)!

I don't know the costs but I know it's a LOT easier to be a young magician member of the Magic Circle, than an "old" one  ;)
