I made this for a birthday delivery this weekend.
The horse is a tad bit small for the rider, but I like how it turned out.  I have small bouncy balls in the feet to weight it down and keep it standing well.

thanks all...Cathy the horse is actually a lot easier than it looks.  Here is a simplier version....

horsey.gif[/attachment:1mmy21ey]

This one was made with 260s and a 5" round for the head I think, the one with the cowboy was made with 350s and an 11" round for the head.  The main difference was that I used pinch twists on the legs (where pt is), the problem was the horse wasn't stable with the rider on it, so I added 260 loops around the pinch twists to hold it steady.  I also added a mocha scrap on the front of the horse (connected to leg pinch twists) to help brace the horse better.  I also added a different nose on the 350 one (pinch twist and small loop twist added).

On this horse the ears, neck and body are all 1 balloon.  Make two small loop twists for ears,- then slightly under-inflate a round (you want it slightly soft to work with) and make a small bubble in the top, connect it to ears. Then make a bubble as long as you want the neck to be, another pinch twist, and then a 3 bubble bird body for the body;  add the legs through the belly, and add a mane.  Does that make sense?  I don't know if I explained that well, but that's how I made it.  Give it a try, and if it doesn't work, or if you don't understand something, let me know and I'll try to explain better.

Well here's one for ya'll to snigger at.    I had a last minute booking and only a couple of hours to restock my apron and make the birthday balloon.  I didn't have any white link-o-loons so no white horse and no black 660s so that meant I would have to use a multi-bubble body.

I plotted out the design as I twisted, adapting as I went.  I finished all but the leg length on the horse and was quite satisfied with it.  So then I attached the legs to the base, breaking off the excess leg pieces as I went, and never really looked at the horse again (not even when I was attaching the cowboy)... until I went to edit the photos tonight.  And what did I find?  That the front shoulders had slipped down and out of position as I was attaching the legs. So now instead of looking like a decent horse with potential, it looks like it's had a bit of an accident.    OK, maybe it still has potential.  I'll just have to make another and find out. :)

I have learned my lesson: Actually look at the sculpture before stuffing it in a delivery bag and rushing out the door.

Happy twisting,
Bonnie

Miss Bonnie,

You are your own worst critic...lol.  I love this sculpture!  I think it just looks like he's walking...it's perfect the way it is  :D
It looks like this one was made as a hat. That is brilliant!  I love how you made the grass too, the whole sculpture is very cool! I'll bet the birthday child loved it..(I know I would!)
