Lord Geoffrey

As Halloween is only a few weeks away I thought I would share my Bats with you.
These are very quick to make and are ideal for line work. I sure some of you have some much more complicated ones and it would be great to see photos of them.

Just to let you know little Bat 1 is made from 2 260q and Bat 1 small is made from 3 260q
Twisting is more fun with balloons

At the Care and Share last weekend, there were a few bats made from 160s with wings made up using extra triangles. The extra triangles made for much longer wings and were very effective. They were also much enhanced by a little artwork (red eyes and fangs, etc.)

I took some photos but I'm not sure if its ok to post them as they weren't my models. I have an idea that  Thelma and Twistina made them but I'm not sure.

I've been trying but can't get the picture posted. First it complained that the file size was too large. I managed to crop the picture so the filesize was reduced to less than 256K but now it complains that the pic size is too large. I have no way to resize the pic.

I'll keep trying

Hi Henry, (and to anyone else who needs to resize images with no fancy software)

If you are using a Windows Operating System, you should have an application installed called PAINT found in Start -> Programs -> Accessories

Its a basic drawing package that can be used to resize images. Its not an amazing application but more then suitable for uploading images to a forum.

Open the image you are after using File -> Open

Then if you click Image -> Attributes it will show you the Image Size (Width And Height, Not File Size) Remember these numbers.

If you close that pop up, and then click Image -> Stretch/Skew it will allow you shrink the image by a percentage, Just enter a percent change in the Horizontal & Vertical boxes which will reduce your image below those required for this forum and click OK.

This will resize you images quickly and easily.

You can check the attributes again if you wish to ensure its dimensions are below the maximum the fourm supports. Then just save as JPG and your done.

Obviously its not as good as some of the proper photo packages out there as you have to Guess-timate the percentage required to shrink image for forum purposes. But its better then nothing.

Pete

Ps, On a quick note, Under NO circumstances put a number over 100% in the boxes, it will stretch your image in some horrendous ways, if you need to enlarge an image use a proper application. If you enter a % that shrinks a picture to far use Edit -> Undo to restore the image to its original size and try a new %.
Try and keep Horizontal & Vertical %'s the same to maintain aspect ratios of your images.

Thanks for the help, chaps. I'll investigate further tomorrow (its getting late now)

I ended up transferring the photos to another computer, which had Paint Shop Pro installed on it, then back again. It was rather long-winded and somewhat clunky but in the end, I got a result! :-)

Thanks again,

Henry
