This weekend I have been asked to donate a raffle prize to help raise some funds for a local charity. They left it completely open to me as to what to make so I embarked on a couple of popular characters of the moment. You could say I had an idea that just Gru & grew, and even managed to find a minion to help me with the task.

Also wanted to say thank you to Antonio for sharing his wealth of knowledge at the memorial lecture last month, as I used the pinchline for Gru's scarf

Dan, these are excellent - I love the pinch line scarf. I've seen a lot of Minions but only one other Gru and you really have got the character right. Gru is a difficult shape. Graham - isn't about time we booked Dan for a TBAG star lecture?

Darren I agree Dan makes some incredible things and I would love to hear how he thinks about building them, techniques. Gru is one but I loved his skylander character as well.... That's just two that come to mind pooh forgot Gonzo rob

Wow what a great reaction, thank you for all your kind comments, I was so pleased on the day of the raffle as there were so many prizes including money off meals and vouchers etc... and the first prize that anyone took? Yep you guessed it... one of the vouchers. But the second prize went to a mum who actually wanted to look at another voucher, but her kids wouldn't leave her alone until she had picked up Gru and the Minion. it's amazing what parents will do sometimes to keep their kids quiet

Dan have you ever thought about making and selling instructions. I love your designs and would be happy to purchase PDFs for example or heaven forbid a book. Not wanting to give you more work but....

Unfortunately this is not something that I will be working at the moment as I am part of the FAB Mega Jam Team. There is however a pre-jam all-day workshop going on there on the Friday which I am busy preparing for, plus I have been asked to consider offering classes later this year also.
