Roger, that is a lovely flower arrangement!  As for it not being as good as some... IMO, it's far better than many I have seen!

I want to have a go at making one of Michaels vases above, the fourth one down in his pictures, silver and black. I can normally work out most balloons but I'm actually stuck on his middle section, can anyone offer any advice please?

I think he's done a (what I call) a double flat weave, so the inside will be silver and the outside will be black will give it a go tomorrow to see what I come up with, will post on here, great work so tidy.
Graham did the same for his dress.

At a guess I'd say it's a normal inner weave & then the outer weave is connected to the row below so giving you the downward spiral effect.
And another guess is that you have you to build the inner & outer layer together as you go.
Michael looks in now & again so hopefully he'll put us all right.

mmmm!!! I'm still really confused, but I'll mess around and give it a go anyway. I'll be trying it on Wednesday when I have a bit more time and will post a photo when I finish it. I'm hoping that Michael will log on before then and give us an explaination as to how he did it.

As I said before, I can normally work out most designs but this one has snookered me :)

Billy,
If you look at the dress I made here;
http://www.balloonchat.co.uk/viewtopic. ... s&start=10
on page 2 when the pink goes around the skirt part instead of twisting into the same horizontal line move it down one row each time.

Ok I hope I have the right section of the right vase.

If so I think I have sussed a way to do it, even if it is not the way Michael has done it.

I first did a basic framework (gold) of a standard weave just doing a s large section then a small one I then wove the silver over the large bubbles.

Ps if Michael see's my clumsy attempt at his brilliant design I hope he will forgive me :oops:

When I get time I hope to have a proper go at the whole thing.
