At the care and share day yesterday I showed a new helicopter design that was inspired when I was at euro jam and sat in Antonio's class.
I thought it was fairly easy to follow along but one or two did seem to struggle, mind you it was only my second time making it so maybe I needed to sort out the wrinkles a little more.
Anyway today I have come up with a new design, two actually which I prefer, I will post these on the bishops Stortford thread but only once I put the original helicopter up.

So this was the original, then the two variations today.

The two new designs, I think I prefer the round balloon with a raisin twist but it would be quicker and easier with the heart for the real world.

Have you a link for it Craig? It keeps evolving as this morning I have been playing around again. For me the process started when I was sitting in Antonio's class at Euro Jam and I changed a couple of things from the original, I will go and see if I can find what Antonio made at Euro Jam.

This is Antonio's helicopter he showed, I moved the tail section down to the centre of the round and then made the balloon that went over the round with just a puff of air, I also did it with a totally un-inflated over the round as well. I also put a heart as the cockpit as the un-inflated balloon sits in place with the heart but I keep thinking fly every time I look at it.

This is what I changed this morning, made the skies lower and added a 160 underneath the cockpit, I'm starting to like the look of this.

I just did a search for nick the balloonatic helicopter on google images and nothing came up, Nick is the guy I met at the Florida Super Jam earlier in the month,
is this the same person you are talking about Craig? I looked at his website portfolio page as well and could not see it.

Was this taught at this years Florida Super jam? I was in Nick's class and he spoke about school show's, maybe he showed it in the jam room but I'm sure there would have been a few helicopters laying around and I did not see any. It is similar to the one Antonio showed but what was not mentioned on Antonio's was that the blades actually spun around and there
was movement.
I have to say that I think the helicopter design I came up with is quite a way different from Nick's but maybe that is just me?

Graham, your helicopter design is completely different. The fact that every helicopter will have rotor blades and a cockpit is about as similar as it gets.
