Hi all.

I have been trying to practace my weaving, as it gives you so much more scope in what you can make, as you can see by some of the things posted here by some very talented twisters.

So, killing two birds with one stone, I got weaving yesterday, along a pirate theme, as down here during the summer, around the old harbour, and the fort, there are loads of pirate events, and we are having a pirate themed restaurant opening in August. I will be prepared now !!!

Here's what I did, and thank you to all those who posted their pictures of pirate ships. That was so useful. Thank you for sharing your ideas :D
Kind regards
Kevin

These are the pirates I made to continue the theme. With these in my portfolio I hope to pick up something...... as long as it's not scurvey :D

I put the pirate in the ship to see how he looked. That was an idea I saw in Grahams web gallery. Thanks Graham :D
Kind regards

Hi Tonya,

I learnt a lot about weaving in what I did, but on the photos of the ship, a bubble on the sail popped .I am too much of a gentlemam to say what I thought when I saw the Photo ;)

Next time I would do the ship, I would make the sails more interesting, perhaps red/white stripes.

Thanks go to Krazy Kev for the insperation.

The hardest thing to do was the anchor. Fot the bottom bit i made a really long hook twist in a 160, to divide in two. I thought I was going to loose the circulation in my finger trying to get it out  : :D

Glad you liked the artwok on the pirate stubble. his face is pretty much the same as I did on a boxer puppet I refurbished, great how two art forms work together ;)
Kind regards
