Balloon Chit Chat / New Mac Lite attachment
February 10, 2016, 01:49:45 PM
The Springling Brothers over in US have developed an attachment for the MAC Lite floor pump. They call it the 'Dumbo' as it looks a little like elephant ears and goes over the body of the Mac to act like a handle/balloon holder.

They've just reduced the price for pre-orders from $49 to $29 until the 15th Feb, but no price for shipping to the UK, which is a bit disappointing. They'll be at Twist and Shout where they're launching it - anyone going from the UK? :)

I thought it was a very insightful article, and I know that sort of attitude is prevalent in the face painting community although I hadn't come across it too much in the twisting community (I'm sure a lot of the old school painters are nodding their heads). There is a lot of competition out there and yes, sometimes it seems like it's all about who is perceived to be the 'best'.

Graham's days are all about sharing and the only other one I know of (and have experienced) is the FAB Mega Jam where everything really is about networking and sharing ideas freely (okay I'm biased as one of the organisers). There are no egos there, and if you want to stay up all night jamming then you can. No competitions (unless you count the fun and games in the evening), just a weekend of mixing with like minded people. :D

That looks a good sturdy box. Did it come with the pockets round the outside?

It's amazing just how many versions I've seen of Elsa - one of the most popular princesses in years apart from Ariel. I've just cracked a decent princess head so I just need to get the right colour balloon for her dress. :)

Alas, I am a clod-hopping size 6. I thought for a minute that you had customised the pumps with actual balloons.  :D

I must admit to being very lax in contributing (hangs head in shame), but I'm now making a conscious effort to log on to the forum every day to see what is happening. It's so easy to just 'like' a post on Facebook to acknowledge that you've seen something, and I do like the search facility on here so this is the place to go when I need to check something out.

I've watched this and have to agree :)

I need to make quite a few models and want to get a head start the day before by making certain parts before putting them together. Is there a way of storing the elements so they don't get that faded 'bloom' look?

I'm going to struggle to get to most of the days as I have to book time off my full time job, plus there's only one (Bishops Stortford) that is anywhere near me. I'm still happy to pay the full membership though as I feel it's important to support resources like these. Don't forget that you can class membership and the cost to get to the days as training, so it's all tax deductable.

That reminds me - must go and pay my next instalment! :)

Unfortunately Daniel's vitriol against this forum spilled over onto another platform (a Facebook group I am a member of), but I think it was deleted by a moderator as it really didn't have any relevance to the group. I did respond to his initial post but his replies (I think) were what prompted the thread to be deleted. I think it's a shame when someone bites the hand that feeds them as I have never found anything but helpful and friendly people on this forum.
