Picture Gallery / 1st large sculpture,- dinosaur
June 01, 2013, 07:38:48 PM
To be honest wasn't sure about posting this, as end result is not what I started off to make, but sort off changed as week went on. and balloons were going soft, and lost some strength in legs to be freestanding, as only balloon framing inside,
, we are our own worst critics, but I know many faults in making, but that's how we learn ( so I tell myself ) any way hope you like..

Balloon Tutorial & Help / balloon show video.
May 19, 2013, 09:51:25 PM
can anyone help.
I have been searching for a video, ( sure link was on balloon chat ). so I can watch it again.
it was from one of the conventions/ care n share. on how to build a children's balloon show. starting with warm ups/ flow of act etc.
as I am building an interactive show, partly using MB floyds puppet snake & whale. and Nippy's balloon masks, which I have downloaded
Prob, I cannot remember who it was or where, but been searching here and you tube.
can any one remember this, sure it was not so long ago.

Balloon Chit Chat / Recognition to many.
April 15, 2013, 12:39:09 PM
Hello all,
I have been a member here since Feb 2012 ( it does not feel that long ).
As a then Newbie, like all was drawn in and addicted, to feed my new addiction i searched the web /you tube etc. self teaching myself. not aware at the time as most insperation/ pictures, i considered was in public domain. ( learnt since then ). so i went on saving pic's to try later, not intending to steel. one did pop into my website and this was removed when notified. The prob then was i did not note down whom they were by, and as  often i could have been watching someone else interpretate anothers work, so how do you know whom to acknoledge?

Anyway, its time to mention some names, YouTube takes you world wide, and anyone in any country whom has posted a video. i can not name all but thankyou , this is twisting and decor.

More specific a ThankYou to -
Graham Lee, for this Forum and yes it is user freindly,
Nippy 99, for your reviews,
Neil Drummond for the Edinburgh ( scottish? Jam ) and all whom attended.
Colin Myles /Larry Moss / Barak Dagan, got me hooked,
youtube- some but not all.
Mr Fudge / MB Floyd /Holly Hopper / Dylan Gelinas / happy cabbie/ iancarlo4 / Sue Bowler / Warrenann/ chitwister/ balloon creations ( andy81)/ Tonya.
also Qualatex staff , & John, BAPIA. Hi Flyers ( Glasgow )
Finally to all whom make this a great forum, and post pictures , help, and information.
I hope if i have not mentioned anyone, you are not offended.

Anyone looking here and not a member, then join the Family.
I am still searching world wide and promise to try and take names, this has been a hot topic lately, and wish to in part put my wrongs right..
Alistair.

How many times do we see soft toys stuck to car windows funny and eye catching . Insired by Grahams car, see his post"some people need glasses", I  have attached suction cups to a 160 figure, idea is for car widows, or any window, as an eye catcher.  Am I mad, or is this actually viable.
Can any one come up with better /funny designs,  for car windows, just for fun no prizes. The suction cups I  used have small hooks attached, Tesco pack 8 for a £1..Sorry Graham, just done this on tablet, so cannot fix pictures right way.

Hi , can any balloon chat freinds, tell me where i can get 24 inch balloon sticks and cups. supplier in the UK ?
every search is either smaller sizes or an american site,  local balloon supplier only does up to 9".
i use lomey products up to 31", ( for big jobs) but would like sticks/cups as disposable. and cheaper.for odd gift jobs.
Thanks .

Balloon Decor / Mini Balloon Stuffer for £1
December 14, 2012, 09:37:15 PM
This came to mind when a cheap pump failed as the base popped off.

HOWS IT POSSIBLE ?  go into your local "Poundland shop", there are others of similair name, which sell balloon pumps / kits with pumps, and remove the end away from where you locate the balloon.

However for only one pound ( GBP ), you can remove the end, thats the only hard part.

This stuffer is for 11" rnds, and small soft toys, limited to the size of pump.
when you have removed the end, pull pump out, leaving base empty, insert your toy. Pre inflate balloon to pre-streach it , deflate and the neck will streach over pump end , if you have cut end off ensure no sharp edges.
You can now fit another pump at balloon end, however i can blow through the pump to inflate balloon.
to simply stuff depress piston back into pump body pushing toy into balloon twist and tie. for better results attach clear line to toy before inserting into stuffer, keeping some line out, you can then support toy whilst in balloon, which will secure when tied.

Ok this has limitations and a bit of practice, but for the funfactor, worth £1.

Picture Gallery / 1st large mask, scary?

Hello,
Sorry ( graham ) i've not posted for a while . so here is a last minute mask i have just done for halloween party.
 hope you like it.
apart from a few pop's ( it happens ), only prob was eyes , done as double bubble's however only having 11'' rnds, they did not become clear, but cloudy as only half inflated. to be honest i started with a vison of chinese dragon / serpent idea, it grew from there somehow. 'o' that subconsice mind....

Alistair ( aligtwister )
ps,
I've just made a web page, being developed but take a look of it so far, if you like. and it's totally free if any twisters want a web site, but like me on a low budget.

Firstly can i say this is not a moan just a reflection, and thanks to Graham for this great Forum, and all whom contribute.

As the list of Dvd's /Cd's grows longer, and as such cost to buy them all becomes, greater. should we concider the formats, such as Tonya's & Thelma's, where instuctions are sent by DVD or, by PDF in an email. this has worked for me, the benifit is it is quicker and cost less. also production costs can be greatly reduced, as once created do not rerquire to burn lots of dvd's.
i am sure we all have a list of must have DVDs, but will we buy them ?

I fully believe authors, should be acknowledged / rewarded for their time and experiance, and cost should reflect this. if by having two formats , would this encorage more to buy, and in doing so twisters on lower budgets ( newbie's ) can access more. whilst if any one requires a dvd copy they may be happy to pay a premium.

This forum is great for sharing ideas and pictures, and nippy 99's reviews, cannot be missed. but if i can reward authors, through emailed pdfs, at lower cost, is that better that, than not buying at all, which supports no one.

please feel free to give your thought's. as Graham says , lets improve our art.

would this help / work for all ??
