Lets see some designs :) It is a long shot but if England does well we could get some good gigs coming our way! Stock up on that red and white.

Although, it was said that only 4% of the English think that England has a chance to win...

Hey All,

Until now I have been doing 1 hour parties. This includes about 20 minutes of games and then my show which is 40 minutes. More and more I am getting requests for 1.5 hour parties. I have said yes to one now but I am really trying to figure out how to engage these kids for over an hour!

I was thinking of a little circus workshop afterwards, scarves and feather balancing.

What does your 1.5 hour party package entail?

What are some of your favourite games?

Do you enjoy a 1.5 hour party or do you prefer the 1 hour?

Would love some ideas!

Cheers!

Balloon Chit Chat / Help with Contract please!
February 26, 2014, 08:46:10 AM
Hey All,

I have a big corporate client and this is the biggest gig that I am being contacted directly and not going through an agent. I need to send over a contract to them but I am a bit lost on how to format one or what it should say. I know that I should have a cancellation policy and take a deposit but beyond that I know there are wayyy more things I should have in it.

Can anyone please email me a contract they use? You don't need to have a price on it or anything. Just some terms you use and how you put them out on the document would be really, really helpful!

Cheers!

Balloon Chit Chat / Between the folds Origami Documentary
February 06, 2014, 10:22:22 AM
This documentary is really great and, I think there a lot of parallels between origami and balloon twisting. You can watch the full doc on Youtube, it is just under an hour and a entertaining watch: //http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bJRBiIeFe7Q

Picture Gallery / Twisting with hearts!
January 27, 2014, 10:06:48 PM
I have been so inspired by Gabi Hodge. She uses a lot of hearts in her twisting. Now I am addicted to creating new sculptures with hearts. Here are  a few of mine, I would love to see some of your attempts too!

I have really been trying to push my skill and develop my style, I have been posting lots of photos on my fan page: www.facebook.com/misspopularityballoons if you are interested in seeing my sculpture journey check it out. After seeing what Rob did with his balloon a day for a year, I just thought I should be twisting once a day too!

Cheers!

Balloon Chit Chat / Ideas and guidance needed!
January 04, 2014, 10:49:00 AM
Hey All!

I have had an enquiry about creating a balloon sculpture or installation that will 'explode' for an audience and release a bunch of token/coupons for the customers to have. I tried to explain this is difficult with sculptures because it is multiple balloons and that maybe one giant balloon would be better. Any ideas on which balloon to use and how the pop could happen?

The client also wanted to have individual balloons on sticks with something inside each balloon that people can pop and get their 'prize' inside. This is very easy but I am wondering if anyone has had any experience making sculptures or installations using 11'' rounds on sticks?

So let me know what you brilliant balloon aficionados are thinking, would really appreciate the help.

Happy New Year!

I want some! How do I get them in the UK?

Balloon Chit Chat / Attention Canadian Twisters!
May 17, 2013, 11:43:05 AM
Hi there,

I am a Canadian living in the UK (I have dual citizenship) but I really miss my family and Canada. I am a freelance entertainer here in Bristol and have been getting lots of interesting gigs and have been able to make a living. I would really like to be able to get some work in Ontario for October. Halloween isn't as popular in the UK as it is in North America. So, any ideas on how I can get some work in Ontario in October? I am asking now because I am hoping to make some connections and set things up early. I don't really want to steal work or compete with anyone more just pick up overflow if possible and make enough to live off of while I am there. Last time I went home to visit I just ended up spending all my savings to see my friends and family and came back to the UK in January with nothing! Not a good thing.

So fellow Canadians, any ideas? any help would be so appreciated. I am happy to get a jam going while I am there and have a fun twisting and sharing afternoon like the ones here in the UK.

Cheers!

Picture Gallery / Grandfather Clock
May 13, 2013, 10:02:47 PM
We had a jam in Bristol today, I learnt a Grandfather clock. I then put black 260s inside gold 260s to make this one when I got home.

Okay, now I rest my hands.

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon Squash Racquet?
May 09, 2013, 05:17:07 PM
I want to make a racquet. I saw a pic with an 11 inch round in the with lines drawn on it for the strings but I would love to make the strings out of uninflated balloons. Any ideas on how to attach the balloons but not to lose the circle effect of the racquet. Not sure if that makes sense... I looked for some pics on the forum but couldn't find much.

Cheers!

Hey all you lovely, helpful people!

I am looking to get a backdrop or a set made for my shows. Something colorful to have behind me.

Any ideas? Anyone have one already? Do you like it, is it worth it? Is it expensive?

Advice would be appreciated!

Cheers!

Balloon Chit Chat / Selling Balloons at a local florist
February 03, 2013, 11:52:51 PM
Hey Everyone!
Valentines is coming up and I live in a ritzy area with a ton of florists. I am thinking of approaching them to see if I can sell some pieces. Has anyone done this before? Is there a split that you have used that everyone is happy with? Is this a good idea or a bad idea?

Looking for some advice!
Cheers,

Website "Chat" Help / UBUNTU 12.10
November 28, 2012, 07:34:30 PM
I have made the switch to the open-source UBUNTU operating system and I love my life now! Do away with Windows, I am telling you, you won't regret it. No pestering with windows popping up telling you your computer will self-destruct if you don't hit OK and you can't get viruses. Look it up, UBUNTU I firmly believe it is the operating system of the future.

Balloon Chit Chat / Balloon Promotional Video
October 30, 2012, 09:50:16 AM
Hey All,

A friend who is good with his fancy camera offered to help me make this video. We went to the park and I offered out free balloons in exchange for permission to be in my video. It was fun and this is what he came up with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGIsqq3IPHY&hd=1
