Hi all,

I am tempted to purchase the book from Christopher, I really like his work however reading the description on the website, it does seem heavily aimed at restaurant work (not a lot in the UK).

the reason im tempted is this bit from the website.....

•Methods on how to create Balloon Artistry in the restaurant environment. How to create those "large show pieces" that most say are "impossible" to make in this setting. I show you HOW it works and explain WHY it works.

Has anybody who has purchased the download got any opinions on if it is of use for the Uk market?

Thanks!

Balloon Review / 130 - TWISTER SISTERS FROZEN COLLECTION
November 18, 2014, 08:51:55 PM
Ok - my first review!! be gentle...!

The Twister Sisters Frozen Collection - available from http://vimeo.com/channels/twistersister

Price - $5 each or all 7 designs for $25

I have been using Holly's designs off youtube for a long time and was really pleased to see her new downloadable designs become available.

The series consists of:

Snowman doll
Snowman bracelet
Ice Queen doll
Ice Queen Bracelet
Frozen Princess Doll
Frozen Princess bracelet
Reindeer

Holly presents the series in her usual youtube way, explaining bubble sizes and balloon lengths clearly, and I found the models easy to make and very effective - might take me a few days to get all 7 done so please bear with me!

I was a secondary school teacher, teaching languages when my life took an unexpected twist at my son's 3rd birthday party and daughter's christening when I saw a balloon artist in action.

After 10 years in teaching I was quite disillusioned and wanted to spend more time with the kids. Harriet was only six months old and Toby was two, and I loved the idea of being a stay-at-home dad, as well as saving us the child care costs - so I went for it!!

After watching the balloon artist I decided to give it a go. I bought some balloons and pored over video tutorials and spent a lot of time practicing. I didn't realise how hard it was going to be or how tough it was to actually blow the balloons up but I persevered!.

To be honest, I'm living the dream! People say to me, 'don't you get bored being at home?' No, my children mean everything to me and if I can help bring them up giving them more time, surely that's worth more than any job!
Obviously, being a full time dad is my main 'job' but being able to do the balloons gives me a purpose and independence as well as a lot of fun!

Balloon Chit Chat / a little advice needed about abuse
February 05, 2014, 08:30:42 PM
Hi all, having a couple of issues I would like some opinions on if possible...

Until 14 months ago, i was a secondary school teacher (still do very occasional supply so am still teacher registered), hated it so quit to be a full time dad with balloons where i can.

Recently however, a number of ex pupils (including ones that have left) have cottoned on and visited my website and facebook pages.

On the website, ive had comments on pictures from 'jimmy saville', 'michael jackson' etc with not particulaly nice comments

On the facebook page, a number have liked the page, which im assuming i cant stop, however a number of highly offensive pictures were posted overnight onto the timeline. i did of course delete all straight away, reported as abuse and banned the people.

In no way do i take it personally, just stupid kids but its annoying, especially knowing it is ion my best interests not to respond.

My intention is just to keep deleting, and banning in the hope they get bored

what would you do?

Cheers for your advice

Balloon Chit Chat / My Daily Balloon
December 15, 2013, 09:02:18 PM
Meant to post this the other day...

Huge thanks to Rod Driscoll! I was second in the my daily balloon competition, with my heron!

Now, I was thinking about this, the winner was from Chile, so surely that makes it an international competition and, by coming second, i have won an international award?

Keen to publicise this and boost prices!!
