I've had a query today via email for 3 twisters in South Herts from 10am to 4pm. Very vague at this moment in time but before I go back and ask for more information I thought I would see if there are 2 others that are available.

If you are free that day please could you email me at mailto:yvonne@loonyballoony.co.uk">yvonne@loonyballoony.co.uk with your rates for that length of time. Also if I don't know you could you also include a link to your website / facebook page or somewhere where I can see what sort of balloons you make.

Many thanks

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Weaving Advice Needed!
May 07, 2012, 08:37:54 AM
I am currently working out 2 designs for ride on motorbikes for the same client and for once have plenty of time to work on it! However, one of the bikes has a white bit and visor at the front and I am wondering what is the best kind of weave to get the effect need.  I've attached a photo of what I am talking about.

and ignoring you lot but we moved house Saturday. Actually we packed up and moved house from Friday to yesterday and I am back at the old house making the most of the broadband whilst cleaning the house before completion tomorrow.

Not sure when I will be back on the internet so just in case I would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year. Will still get email on my mobile though so I may pop in and out if I get a chance but suspect I could be a tad busy over the next few weeks  ;)

Received this email but don't cover Crouch End and couldn't take a job on a weekday anyway. They are after someone for free and I have made no attempts to authenticate that this is an official charity event etc so if you are interested please check this all out for yourself.

QuoteWe are two local nannies who are hosting a children's Christmas party at the Hornsey Vale, Crouch End. The event will be in aid of ChildLine with all profits going to them (it's their 25th year this year!).
We were wondering if you would be willing to donate some time to do magic/ balloon modelling on the day, or if you are not do you know any one who may?  Any help would be greatly appreciated as we have not been given much time to organise!
If you are happy to be part of making this a success we can pop down with all our official papers etc.

Please contact the lady direct at mailto:hazelkrause@yahoo.com">hazelkrause@yahoo.com

On Saturday I decorate the home of a couple getting married. Not so special on it's own until you hear that 1.5 weeks earlier he was told he was terminal and he had days to live rather than weeks and they were granted a special licence to marry.  They were just going to do it on a shoe string (as the bride has twin 13 year old and a disabled 8 year old son) but her maid of honour got in touch with the local radio station and asked them to help out.

They in turn put the word out to everyone they could think of to try and help these people have the perfect day. It was beautiful to see so many people pull together for them and that they were so overwhelmed by the number of people that wanted to help.

I also had a decorator from Norfolk (Graham Laycock - Absolute Balloony) phone me on Friday evening to offer his help too.  I've included a couple of the photos of what I did at their house because it was unlikely the groom would have been able to stay at the official reception for very long.

I have just agreed to do a 2 day wedding fair at Wimpole Hall on the 15th & 16th October which is scary enough as it is but because I've booked so late I need to get a 50 word write up of my business to go in their brochure by the end of the day as it is being sent to the printers then.

I am fundamentally rubbish at self-promotion and despite sitting here for the last hour trying to think of something, anything, I still have precisely nothing!!

If any of you could lend a hand I would be extremely grateful as I suspect as the day wears on my writers block is only going to get worse!

I have just been contacted by an agent(?) looking for a twister or juggler for this Saturday. The hours are 10.00-3.30pm but she is expecting about £190.00.

I know this is low but you may be able to negotiate with her for more if you are free but as I don't cover the area I didn't discuss this with her.

Her name is Fran and her number is 0161 7962225 or 07879 258625.

Balloon Chit Chat / Suggestions needed
May 14, 2011, 05:33:03 PM
Hi guys I am twisting at the Rugby next weekend and I intend to make a hat for myself to wear but not being a Ruby fan or even understanding the game at all I would like some suggestions of not only something appropriate but non-biased too.

I did think about weaving a rugby ball but thought it may look a little strange?!

I bumped into them on my retail portfolio course and they did give me their details but I can't find them and really don't have time to tear the house apart looking for them.

If anyone knows their contact details before Monday I would really appreciate it or I'll have to do my shopping in at least 2 different suppliers   and I would prefer not to. I'm not sure they were Enfield specifically but they were somewhere along the new road on the way to Tottenham.

I have had a personal referral to do balloons and face painting at a wedding in Launston, Bucks on 7th May but it would be 1h 30 mins from me and that is out of my area.

If you do both and cover this area please PM or email me and I will let you have the lady's number. Please do let me have a link to your website / facebook page / attach some photos though as this will be a personal recommendation from me for someone's wedding.

Balloon Decor / Is there such a things as ...
February 26, 2011, 10:29:33 PM
a hard copy of the Betallic / Sempertex catalogue. I am currently looking at Betallic's on-line one but each page is taking an eternity to load and I'm not even sure if I can get most of the products over here (although I am sure Graham will help me with that one).

Picture Gallery / Balloon for a Party tonight
February 19, 2011, 01:31:03 PM
One of my Hubby's work mates is having a 40th Birthday Party tonight and is a huge Elvis fan so I have made him a 4.5 ft tall Elvis complete with singing Elvis Balloon!!

Huge thanks to Kevin (Phoenix) as he talked me through his one last August and although I couldn't follow my notes from the conversation I did use them and his picture on here for guidance.

I'm not going to the party tonight as I couldn't sort babysitters but I have informed hubby that he will take photos of Elvis with the birthday boy or else! So hopefully more photos to follow tomorrow.

My copy arrived in the week from Aroedeco and I was so motivated to try it I made these little guys:-   [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ] Copy of Copy of DSC04528.JPG[/attachment:32do271n] [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ] Copy of Copy of DSC04535.JPG[/attachment:32do271n] [ You are not allowed to view this attachment ] Copy of Rachel_Lootle.jpg[/attachment:32do271n]

I am totally loving these guys and may have to play some more over the weekend as my Elmer's glue turned up today and it is too wet to test run my new stilts! Well I could really do without a broken neck!!!

I am currently looking at on-line store solutions to be integrated into my website so that I can offer a standard set of basic bouquets for delivery or collection.

I've just downloaded zen cart but am already confused as to what it does and how it works. I'll google it properly later but thought I would ask here in case anyone knows anything that is more straightforward to use and set up.

I've just had a quick look on the internet (and please note Google does not want to be my friend  :( ) but can only seem to find it for sale in the US and due to the value I am sure good old Royal Mail will stiff me for VAT and admin fees

Web links would be appreciated if anyone can help.

Balloon Decor / Link-o-Loons - How do you inflate them?
January 13, 2011, 10:13:47 AM
Right so I have a load of LOL's and despite having played with them and scoured their website I cannot find inflation instructions anywhere.

I tried to make an arch for Rachel's birthday back in the summer for her birthday party using them but I really struggled to get them to float well and had to give up on the idea of using the paw print balloons for clusters between each LOL as they just dragged it down to the floor.

I am 99.9% certain I was inflating them wrong.  I would like to retry it but but don't really want to waste too many more of them so thought I would ask first.

Balloon Chit Chat / It's nice to feel appreciated!
January 07, 2011, 10:31:20 AM
Before Christmas I went into my Son's Nursery class and made balloons for all 17 of them just because it was the first time I had been able to do something like that for them.

Well today I get handed a Thank You book by the teacher and in it are cut out balloons with a picture drawn by each of the children on it.  It is so sweet and lovely to have recieved so I just thought I would share as it's made my day.  :)

I have just bodged together (really roughly so I could get an idea if it would work before spending too much time on it) a set of 5 business cards - one for each of the services I currently offer and whilst I like the look of 4 of them the 5th just does not "fit".

I think it is because it has an edited background but I really cannot think what sort of a natural background a balloon bouquet would have? Anyone got any suggestions. The line round is the actual card size and the picture includes the bleed.
