Balloon Decor / Re: selling decor stuff - cheshire

Hi Kate, yes, you did leave it behind, best laid plans and all that. Remember to build it again asap so you remember how it works.  The key thing was to ensure they all connected to the numbers at the same side. I am sure you will get some great pics for your business with they frames. Cheers.

Hi everyone and thanks for the advice Pam.  I have thought long and hard and really cannot do the decor as well as everything else. I will however, still do the face painting and the balloon modelling as I can just turn up to these gigs without preparation.

Anyway, I now have a full list of what I have for sale.  If anyone is interested, please email me and I can send them a copy.  Its first come, first served on everything and happy to do a deal or two.  Our postcode is Cw4 8LL for anyone who wants to come directly to pick up anything.

Cheers, Ali.

Hi everyone, sorry but being a little vague earlier on, I was just seeing if there was any interest.  I have not listed everything as yet but I can do this soon but to summarise, I have:
Frames, various shapes and sizes
Balloon stuffer
dual split second sizer and battery pack
heat sealer
loads of latex round balloons with various prints.
Loads of foil balloons in various colours, styles, etc.
Loads of tulle, ribbon and bows.
mag pole
various cylinder connectors, etc.
basically, I will be selling all decor stuff, but not the balloon modelling items as I want to keep these as still working with them, I just need to sell up the decor side as this is the bit that requires preparation time to do a job and I know I wont have time for this.

I am doing foundation art and design at college this year and next year, I am off to Staffordshire Uni to do Fine Art for 3 years.

If of interest, you can contact me on 07527 267452, I am just 6 mins off junction 18 of the M6.  I will make a proper list as I understand everyone wants to see that but I need a day or 2 to complete this.

Cheers, Ali.

Balloon Decor / selling decor stuff - cheshire

Hi there, just thought I would post this. I have all the decor equipment and balloons in stock but I am going to university full time in september and combined with the face painting and balloon modelling jobs at the weekends, there will not be time for balloon decor as well without serious mental breakdown.  I will be selling it all on ebay come september, but if anyone wants to get in early, just contact me and we can have a chat about all the items I have.
I am just off the M6, junction 18, Cheshire.
Cheers, Ali.

Just thought I would turn the original question on its head.  I recently applied for a fine art course in Staffs uni.  I took along the usual paintings and drawings in my portfolio but I also took a book of my balloon pics from past jobs, some of which were other people's deslgns and some my own.

I am sure the lecturer had never seen anything like it but his comments were to the effect that we as balloon modellers were already working through creative problems all the time.  Working out solutions as we create new images, I think they are instant, disposible mini pieces of art.

My only advice is to work backwards. Once you know what you want to create, do a sketch of it, trying to work out the best way to construct in out of balloons, where you put connection points, sizes/types of balloons to the best effect, etc. You will make mistakes and modify/improve designs as you go along. The other good piece of advice is someone elses.  Take a good design from someone else and come up with one simple way to improve it, or make it quicker.  When you start making your own and people like them, you will cross a line in your head.  Good luck.

p.s. got offered a place at uni, think it was the balloons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all have fun jobs working in this industry, so its really cool when we keep it in the family and pass our skills down to our kids.  I am hoping when my kids are older, they can balloon busk their way all the way through uni! Fantastic stuff, well done to you both.
