Evan never saw the post on the Facebook page, so I took him by surprise when I tossed the trash bag to him!  LOL  I had to pull it out and show him --- and he was laughing most of the visit.  I commented about something to wear for reporting in, but not being required to wear it, and he sounded as if he was planning on wearing it --- should be fun to see what comes of it.

He also asked about up coming events I will be twisting at.  I told him, we could do a short recording at a Farmers' Market and then maybe try to setup an interview where I can do some more sophisticated and unique creations.  He loved the idea of spreading it out over a few days if needed.  I knew he has been interested, this just gave us the opportunity to talk about it and this was by far the most complicated creation he had ever seen from me.

2 notes about the creation:
1.  Do not put a pinch twist on the top as it pushes the hair back behind the skin --- it is there, but not visible.  I thought a pinch twist would help hold it in place better.
2.  Light green doesn't make the best hat, dark green looks much better!

The fun begins today --- I teased a local news station about needing Evan (a reporter) to wear a giant Leprechaun head (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater), well, they didn't say NO...

So, I am going to go down and give them a giant head creation and see what comes of it.  I am trying to not expect them to use it during their reporting, but I wouldn't put it past them (crossing fingers) --- they like to have a little fun!  If anything it will get some laughs at the station when I drop it off.  Wish me luck!!!

Oops, forgot to edit and share this creation.  Love the Leprechauns by the way!

Note:  Winter Green turned up kind of Turquoise with the stupid flash --- I am not nuts --- I actually used a green with the hats!

I made a few of those for a birthday party once and there wasn't a safe place in the house.  The adults were quickly pulled into the action!

Too funny.

Children are used to seeing me twisting with my wife, once I was working solo and a child wondering about my solo twisting status asked me "Weren't you married?"

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Buster Balloon DVD's

Love the new content.  I have yet to watch all of the videos. I love how the videos are in time to plan for Halloween!

As for problems... When I attempted to do it over the wireless it never brought up the video.  I connected directly to my router and magically my problem was solved (faster connection).  Nothing to fancy, but something to consider when attempting to get his videos.

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Peter John Write up

Peter John is and has been highly inspirational to me!  While this isn't an article, this forum has a much more complete picture of his Seurat creation.

You are right about the balloons being hand rolled, I do not think anyone bothered to ask what size of balloons though nor do I think I have ever see a size mentioned...  You can also search that forum for a little more information by simply using the key word Seurat.

I thought I had a few, but apparently I remember them best on the spot...

Your using a pump, ......?
I thought you might appreciate me not spitting all over your balloon.

Can I have a _______ balloon?
Nope, I just ran out of those!  (the reactions are fun!)

The second joke is mine ... the first one was one that was inspired Balloon HQ.  I will try to share more ideas if I can remember any later this weekend.

Quote from: "Snurb"A: I'd rarly get feedback of any sort
I sympathize with you Snurb ---  that is one of the main reasons I don't post pictures.  That and I consider my creations insignificant in comparison to others I see on here at times.

Another reason I have stopped (was going to say slowed down --- but I honestly stopped) was due to working 2-3 jobs each week and the wife missing time with me.  Family takes priority for me on that subject.

No matter --- I love this forum and its content.

Balloon Chit Chat / Newspaper Interview!
April 23, 2011, 02:59:57 AM
First off, I wish to thank this forum as I used the interview a balloon artist to figure out some information to throw at the reporter prior to our interview.  The reporter wanted to interview me at a twisting event, so I wanted to make sure if I was distracted, that the reporter would still leave with some great information no matter what.  The interview a balloon artist questions helped and the reporter greatly appreciated it.  So, thank you very much for that element of this forum!

So...  the newspaper article was actually quite flattering to me.  I never expected a large story, but when I got the newspaper to my shock and amazement, the article took up 3/4ths of the Lifestyles page (the second section into the paper).  1/3rd of the front page was a massive picture of me twisting for a child (as a friend said --- your lifesize in a newspaper!)!  The report was actually continued into a small area on the second page.  The funny part is they used a picture of mine for the second page, so as such, doesn't this mean I am now a published photographer!?!  :D

Anyways, enough of my excited chatter --- here is the article link:  //http://helenair.com/lifestyles/article_ec17b32a-6c93-11e0-a48c-001cc4c03286.html

Oh --- and apparently I go by Mister Twister!  I didn't know this, but it sure is a catchy name!  I like that better than the generic balloon guy.   I think I might end up adopting this name unless I can figure out something better.

Thanks again -- -and enough blabbering.  I have been running non-stop all day and enjoying the celebrity status.
