Picture Gallery / Re: Great Ormond Street Balloons
December 18, 2013, 10:13:42 AM
I am very fortunate to be returning to the Great Ormond Street Party today as a volunteer so that I can see how the children react to our décor.  I will then be writing an article in the BAPIA newsletter along with more photographs.  Thank you to Roger for bringing this to us and being a big part of this years décor team and also to Danny for photography and video services.  Everybody worked as a great team and it really was a fantastic day.  FI we will also be presenting GOSH with a cheque (full value to be announced when we have finished the calculations)

BAPIA membership includes Public, Products & Employers liability cover as well as Legal insurance cover and you will also receive a 'welcome pack' and I know that those who have received this have been very pleased with.  You will also get a listing on the public search facility of the website, if you'd like more information e-mail  mailto:info@bapiaonline.com">info@bapiaonline.com  :)

I know this is too late to help now but it might assist when you next use that inflator.  Assuming that the cylinder had plenty of helium in it and the valve was fully opened there is another possible reason why the gas pressure may have been slow.  On the Conwin regulators there is a built-in safety feature, if dirt or grit (maybe from the cylinder valve) gets into the regulator it can activate this feature and reduce the pressure coming from the inflator.  The best way to try and clear this is to use some Silicone Lubricant spray (must be Silicone based NOT oil based).  Spray this into the end of the regulator that connects into the cylinder (in the centre hole where the gas flows through) and leave it to flow down into the regulator, hopefully this will get behind the offending piece of dirt.  Re-connect the inflator to the helium cylinder and turn the gas on and hopefully the presure will then blow the dirt through the system.

Best regards

Nina, Pioneer Europe (Qualatex) carry the Super Stuffer.  The Classy Wrap used to be available but I am not sure if anybody is stocking them in the UK.

Hi, I am a new member and looking around the site I saw this opportunity to introduce myself to you all.
My name is John Bowler and I have been in the balloon industry in different guises for over 20 years now, having started as a retailer/decorator and ending up where I am now.  I have 2 different roles, one of them is as the European Manager for Conwin (Balloon Equipment manufacturer) and the second is the Chief Exec of BAPIA - Balloon And Party Industry Alliance.  In both of these roles it is very interesting and important for me to keep up with industry trends and to know what's happening and that comes from listening to everybody in the industry.   The one area I haven't been involved in is twisting, but i guess there's still time!!  I am genuinely committed to this industry and enjoy every aspect of it and hopefully from time to time I can contribute something to this forum.
Not sure if I managed to attach a photo, if not I look just like George Clooney!
