Have you ever wondered what goes into organising the greatest twisting convention in the world.
How does it all get put together.
What's it like to have organised the very first balloon fashion show.
Why do people keep coming back year after year.
Why is he loved by everyone in the twisting world.
So hopefully all these questions & more will be answered by the man himself.

The question everyone is waiting to ask is,
Why dosn't the budget at TMJ run to getting a professional DJ
This is your chance to find out how is mind works as I'm very pleased to say that
Mr Leo Verlinden has agreed to be interviewed :D

So please get the questions rolling in.

Leo is the organiser of "The Millennium Jam" http://www.millenniumjam.com & runs a large balloon wholesaler in Belgium.
He promotes his company at trade shows, magic conventions etc
Not sure if he actually twists? Thought it would be nice to chat with someone from another side of our industry.
He is also an avid collector of anything balloon related.

Leo,

A few questions for you;
1, How & what got you into the balloon world.
2, How did you get together in buisness & when did you start working with Johann
3, Have you ever twisted yourself.
4, What are you most proud of achieving in the balloon world.
5, What was your inspiration for starting up TMJ?
6, How's the diet going. Because the last time I saw you, you were looking good :D

I'm sure I can keep you busy over the week with some more questions as well ;)

There is a slight change of plan with interviewing Leo, due to work commitments Leo needs to move his week about so Thelma has kindly volunteered :)  to bring her interview forward to next week.
So please ask away with your questions for Thelma on this thread;

Right it's confirmed Leo will do the interview from 13th-20th July.
He's been busy re structuring his business over in Belgium, so fire away with the questions but don't forget Leo is a wholesale distributor & organiser for The Millennium Jam which is the best balloon modelling convention in the world.

Hi Leo,
I'm a customer at IBS for several years now. I'm a busker and regularly buy my stock of Q260's and Q160's at your compagny. At the beginning of every summer season I make a large order because this is a busy season for buskers. But every time there are some standard Q260 colors out of stock, especially st. red, pale blue, pink, white, lime green etc. I don't get it: how is it possible that there's no complete stock at this time of the year? Isn't this a busy period for you as well? And..this time there was no Millenniumjam..   :D

Well I haven a question.
Last year I joint the multi-balloon contest.
It was my first balloon contest ever.

I know my ocean view was not a winner but only the first second and third place is announced.
I really would like to know at what place I finished.
Is it an option this year to hang the results of the contest somewhere in the hall.
Just to see how you have done.
Maybe a good idea to improve the contest.

See you in November.

Greetings,

Ronald Ronballon Woldering
Well after a view years I finally can make some nice balloons.
Can\'t wait for the next TMJ in Belgium begin November!

First of all , I have to apologise to all of you for the late reply .
I must have done something terribly wrong because I didn't 'see' the questions !
I will try to answer all your questions asap.

Here is my reply to the question of Ronballon.
The reason why we only announce the first three is a practical one .When we add up all the results of the jury , we don't make a overall classification after all the jury totals are added up.
We simply take the three highest totals and at a glance we see who is one ,two and three . What I suggest is that you contact me after the Jam and I will give you your personal ranking . OK ?

I'm sorry , Smiggle ,I can't take your word for this ! It is a huge responsibility to follow into the footsteps of our current DJ !
You will have to do a try out at this edition of the Jam and perhaps we will consider you for the Tenth Jubilee Edition of next year !

I' m sorry , Professor Twist , but I'm not a twister myself ,at least not of the level of the members of this chatsite!  I can make a pretty impressive poodle and a decent teddybear and I occasionally weave a hat but that's it . I 'm a avid supporter of the art but I'm an absolute beginner ... at best !
Like Graham mentioned in his reply , I do have an interesting collection of balloon books , cd's,dvd's ,videos and other balloon related stuff .

Hi Leo,

I came to TMJ and taught there in 2006. I think I was in shock most of the time as I really had not seen such levels of skill in balloon twisting. That and the heat!

My question is this... What are your favourite balloon acts? And what would you like to see in a balloon act?!

See you in November - I'm very much looking forward to it!

best wishes
