Hi there
I have been asked to do balloon twisting for a Animal Shelter Fundraiser in a couple of weeks.  This will be a first official request to do twisting for a small fee....  The person running it is paying us a small fee and I am going to set up a donation box which will be collection of funds to the Animal Shelter and I'm hoping that we collect more than what it costs the Fundraiser.  I have not done twisting on this scale and need to work out what balloons to twist as the kids will be lining up and will need to get the creations out pretty quick.  I am only use to doing more intricate stuff that I potter around doing.  Help any suggestions... Not that keen in just doing one balloon dogs and stuff....
Appreciate any suggestions...
Ta June

Never underestimate the power of one balloon animals.

As twister, we the see the best and most complex balloons in the world.
This usually moves us to try and make the best and most complex balloon creations.

But I like to keep in mind how I felt as a child, receiving a simple balloon.
I was always impressed by one or two balloon animals.

I would recommend if you are planning on making a large volume of balloons, either: a) keep them simple 1 - 2 balloons , or b) pre make them (boy and girl balloons)

Single balloon animals on a heart, simple hat  or stick/tree. Dog pony dinosaur monkey cat & giraffe are what I do most of.
Flower, sword and a two balloon spiral braid hat are very popular too.
Ken Stillmans alien hitchhiker is a great punter pleaser too.

Having something appear fairly quickly is very important to the audience experience.

Don't knock the humble dog. For the younger kids, flowers and dogs are what they relate to most strongly. Colour choice and the persona you display are at probably more important than twisting cleverness in producing emotional engagement.

Thanks Tangoo.  What is the two balloon spiral balloon hat?  Can you please post a pic...  Also would appreciate any dinosaur balloon suggestions.  Dinosaur I'm sure would be popular request...

Thanks for your advises guys.  We did the fundraiser event today.  Our very first event and it went well and how true kids loved the simple stuff.  Definitely can't go past the simple sword!!  Four hours of twisting for our first event hasn't put us off!! We love balloon twisting!!
