Hi Folks,
apologies for a late start to this month's discussion....
Balloon Jams, Care & Share Days and Balloon Get togethers.
Which ones have you been to?
What did you like about them?
Any improvements?
Any tips on attending jams for beginners? E.g. what to take?
cheers
Danny
I would also like to know what subject YOU want to discuss next month and next year.
You can PM me or post here!!!!
thanks in advance,
Danny :ugeek:
"What to take"
I'd say cream cakes, there definately on the list  of things to bring
Take a pump but mark it (they all look the same)
take your cam or cam phone and USE it.
take some cards with you you never know who you will meet NETWORK NETWORK.
don't just sit in the corner playing with your self JOIN IN.
If you see some thing ASK about it.
Some thing I would like to see at grahams jams or Qjams would be games and competitions like the iron man one.
Hi,
Take water, red bull, pro plus, note pad, camera lots of money, business cards, swim shorts, sharpies etc, ipod, cctv, ear plugs, food ( in case you sit near me)
Watch, listen, learn, practice and get involved.
I have only jammed at mill jam, i wouldnt change anything it rocked!!
Generous people who are happy to share, teach and inspire

I like the idea of some sort of contest...
At the risk of sounding controversial, but really not meaning to be honest. What would you have as a level in the contest and how would you level it out for all?
Those of us that 'do' balloon twisting as part of a full time job/living all do it differently which is what makes the industry so interesting.
At the jams you get everyone there from the complete Novice to the person that does it for a hobby ( and always has their latest party piece to share) to the full time entertainer who may use only balloons in their show or just as part of their show. All can have different levels of expertese, which may be where they want to be rather than their actual ability to create different things. Others use them just to have a go at a large model they never get the time to have a go at.
This is where I the jams excel! The new person can learn the basics, the more experienced can learn tricks for m each other, and even the latest party piece can be taken and added to a repatoire as well as the full timer walking away and changing their show because of attending one.
Pam
good point Pam, but even if I knew I'd loss I wouldn't care it's the taking part, the 1 thing above all that has pushed me is the contests on the forums, in my jams I have a hat that everyone who attends takes a piece of paper out and gives what ever is on it a go, no contest but a great way to start a meet.
after taking part in the iron latex comp at Mill jam and enering the worst thing, i agree with dave its all about fun and pushing yourself to try and come up with ideas, some work...............some dont..........MINE DIDN`T (no picts to be posted please!!!)
Billy B. I do believe you are too hard on yourself. Maybe you were just overwheled at the persons next to you!? :D
............your right, some one near me made an X rated santa which put me off, what was going to be the winning model...........damm!!!
you got a photo?
Would like to see balloons used as entertainment within a performance.
Happy to start it off.
