Yesterday I got errors when I tried to come on the site and when I was able to get back on it keeps showing that there is no active topics to show even though there are topics highlighted orange!
I'm confused (but that is not difficult for me!)
No its not you. It still isnt working! But if you click on Board Index you can get at the topics that way in the mean time.
We had the site upgraded yesterday with the latest forum template so I expect the site was down for a while to sort this out and all the time on here I have never used the "view active topics" button. I always click in via "view new posts"
I will see if we can sort this out on Monday, there may also be a few other odd things going on since the upgrade?
If anyone finds any please let us know.
We have also added extra spam filters and made the automatic joining feature active again and so far no spam, so fingers crossed.

Perhaps we could have a thread about helpful hints to do with the forum. I'm looking forward to seing what comes up with the "view active topics" button when we get it back working.
It may be helpful to have a handy hints section on working your way around the forum.
Just looking into this problem with the view active topics button, could someone tell me what it actually brought up as I never used it. Was it all topics that had a reply to them with the latest first.
It showed up any topics that had been posted on within the last 7 days (I think that is the default anyway) whether you had looked at them or not. It also showed the latest posts at the top.
I think I have found the reason, on the previous template there was a fault...which was all threads went automatically onto "view active threads" and they fixed the problem with the new template.
So I just had to activate the button on all the seperate topics, so I believe it's sorted now for those that view the forum this way.

It's amazing what you learn, and to think it was only four years back that I had no clue on adding an attachment to an email :lol:
