To make this a useful resource I think it's important to keep things seperated so have started this topic to review options.
This topic is so we can do reviews on how easy web builders are to use and what they have or have not got to offer.
I have got someone to make my site but costed me £300 I'm happy with it and I have got my money back from it already but can only give his details out instead of a review, http://www.turtlereality.co.uk/ as he done it for me.

mrsite
I have made a web site for my magic club http://www.bathcircleofmagicians.com/ using mrsite http://www.mrsite.com/ not the pro one. I have found it easy to use and it fills the whole screen the tools are easy to use and 2 of my friend have used it as well http://www.divinator.co.uk/index.htm and http://www.thebeautyboutique.org. I haven't spent a lot of time on the site as I wanted it to look simple so anyone could keep it going if I couldn't.
This site also lets me see how many people have viewed the site and can create an email account and redirect them to your personal account, also has a tool for putting you on Google search, it has it's own forum so you can chat with others with the same program ( I haven't been on this yet) and talk about problems. online shop I think using paypal and some other bits and bobs.
Mr site costs £35 please let me know if you want more info.

Weebly
http://www.weebly.com/ I have looked at this software that Cash magic is using easy to use but a bit limiting but have only put together a front page so not sure on what it can do Cash magic could you do a review.
Weebly is free

if any one else uses any other web building stuff please do a review here ;)

Its never going to be as good as one you pay for but it will do the job for now as you get what you pay for
As i get more gigs i can better the site

One thing to add you can get you own http://www.twistername.com name at the end for the cost of $24 a year.

If you want any more info on this site just ask

My face painting site is hosted by http://www.1and1.co.uk, I have used their WebsiteBuilder to create the pages.

The hosting was cheap, £2.99+VAT for minimum 2 years but I found that the basic WebsiteBuilder did not give me quite what I wanted so I upgraded to WebsiteBuilder Plus.  This gives me 5 galleries, unlimited pages, feedback forms, and a whole host of other bits that I havent used like blogs, RSS feeds, etc.  The upgraded WebsiteBuilder is £4.99 per month,  so I just have to get one party booking a year :!: to more than pay for it  :D

Its fine if you can find a template you like, there are something like 140 of them, each with different colour options, graphics, etc.  Or you can upload your Frontpage pages and publish them to your domain.

I have only ever known my site to be down once in 18 months and would (and have!) recommended 1and1 to everyone who has asked about websites.  Mine generates a lot of business, and so has paid for itself many many many times over  :D

Take a look, click:
Magical Faces

and this one I designed via 1and1 for a friend, click:
Rachels Creations

This one is my brothers, also 1and1, click:
Otters Pool Studio

Gosh, hope I dont sound like a geek  :geek:  :D

I have found a little known hosting company http://www.easylife-hosting.com I was with 1and1 found they were a rip off compared to the on I'm with now.

With easylife I get a site building software, loads of scripts that you just simply install when & if you want to. With 1and1 if you want to market your site with them they charge, with easylife I am No 1 in Google & Yahoo.

Sorry I tend to get passionate about things were I feel I find a good deal.

Sam it's alright those of us that know you could never think that  ;)

At present my website is hosted with Me2Uweb but when my contract expires I shall be switching.  I took out my hosting last April / May time and at least twice that I know of in this time my site has been down for over 48 hours - which I feel is unacceptable especially as it seems to be at times of the week when I get my heaviest traffic.  Also I have had constant problems downloading my business email into outlook.  All Me2U will say is that it is AVG causing the problem - I know this is not the whole problem as a) the problem is intermittant b) when I can't download my emails to my laptop I also cannot get into my webmail either and c) my personal emails NEVER fail to download.  They just don't seem to care so I shall be leaving as soon as I can

Steve with the company you have suggested are you able to upload sites you have created yourself or are you limited to using their design software?  Also are you able to host more than one site under this hosting? Have you ever had any downtime? Have you ever had any problems of any kind?  - I am such a nosey moo I know but I am not going to jump in head first again and end up out of pocket!

Hi

This is a great company for Hosting http://www.eukhost.com

Why?

#Hosting from £22.99 You can have more that one site on it.

#Loads of programs to help you make good use of your site FREE

# Best of all 24/7 Free Live chat
# 24/7 Free email support
# 24/7 Free phone support

Tell me another company that give you all this?

Support is absolutely brilliant...They have helped me out many times.

Other companies take ages to reply to your question and sometimes just send you to a link of FAQ.

EUK have live people who answer your question directly.

Yvonneh,

Business @ £2.53/mo
Info15000 MB Data Space
Info300 GB Monthly Traffic
Info3 Domains Hosted
Info100 E-mail Accounts
Info20 FTP Accounts
Info20 MySQL DBs

No no downtime, no problems with 24/7 helpline. They have a 1 hour time limit on getting back to you, I have found that they get back to you usually before the hour is up. Yes when I first went over it took a little while to get used to there control panel, but it's a different company, right? Yes you can upload your own design, I have. As you can see, you can have 3 domains hosted. If you want to upgrade, you can add a bit at a time, or just simply go to the next one up.

I tell you what I have no complaints.

Hope this helps.

Steve
