Im almost too embarrassed to put this on here, but i dont want anyone to make the same stupid mistake.
I put my decorating stuff on ebay. It was worth over £200 and id been storing it, hoping it would make me money some day.
The whole lot went for less than £4..............I felt very sick, i couldnt back out. All my precious stuff, i would rather have given them to charity. All that money i spent on it thinking it was an investment for the future.
right whingeing over and now for the advice, you probably already know about it and im just very naive. PUT A RESERVE ON
thankyou for listening
take care

Hi Mandy, ... Sorry to hear about your EBAY experience, but without a reserve price not much you can do. You can of course near to the end of the auction remove your listing (if you see nothing happening), and just loose you insert fee. But not doing such stuff you are at a loss. Just don't forget the reserve next time or just start the listing at the bottom price you want to receive. Sadly, eBay charge you for everything, so no doubt you didn't even make your £4 after their fees, but it can be an of place to sell stuff. Just right now they changed the way you search stuff and I personally think it screwed it up. For example I like looking for magic tricks, and prior to their change, search results would give me other directories like supreme magic, stage magic, illusions etc. Now, it only gives me the page with items pertaining to the words "Magic tricks". Anyway, don't give up, as eBay is better then sitting at a car boot.

thanks for the words of comfort Joey. I suppose it hurts more because im trying to raise money cos we re moving house in 3weeks.
Why must i learn the hard way? Im now starting to look on ebay to see if i can find some items with no bids and no reserve, with a short time left, you could make a fortune!!!

No one to blame but myself. grrr

Hi Mandy... that's bad news, but everyone has at least one experience with like that on eBay, some you win some you lose.

2 tips I can give you from my experience:

- split job lots up and list as seperate auctions with the offer to combine postage, you will usualy make more that way.

- if trying to bid at last minute on auctions use a service such as Ezsniper to time your bid.
